Are they, Mick? Are they really?

| Our mentality is wrong though, totally. We are the Andy Murray of rugby.

| dont think the mentality is wrong, i just think some of the plays are mental.
silly panic off-loads, running in touch twice, forward passes from dummy half and more
another thing why do players persist in trying to palm the ball down from the play the ball ? twice we conceded tries on the second set of six because of this. its brainless , the only way the ball is going to go is forward so if we do pounce on the ball its either a knock on or offside

| Same old, same old.
First half, killed our energy levels of by needlessly coughing up possession time after time. As after 2 or 3 years and many changes, many players still cough up the ball or give away dumb penalties or make dumb decisions, the certain diagnosis is, across the team, we are not good enough.
Second half, with low energy levels, and having said that, a worrying appearance of lethargy at times and unwillingness to back up and cover, we were given a lifeline when they went down to 12 in the heat with half an hour to go. Sadly, though, we decided to then wheel out our junior girls defensive mode, so that despite being a man down, Catalans could score from near, far, wherever you are, SEVEN tries conceded at home, the defence was an absolute joke. A shambles. A dog's hind leg.
There did seem to be plenty of effort, and even to the last they kept having a go, but ending up losing by 6 is both infuriating and flattering; Cats were by far the better team overall. At times they played attacking rugby several classes above anything we could do.
We have, of course, made some disastrous moves in letting players go, and the daddy of them all, the immaculate Steve Menzies, came back to haunt whoever made that insane decision. Still pure class after a season and a half down the track, he drove many nails into our coffin. I couldn't believe we'd made the coup of signing Menzies, but we did. Yet madly we then, having had a once in a lfetime stroke of luck, kick him out! Shame, shame, shame. It was embarrrassing to watch our so called halfback Jeffries unable to beat Menzies with a clear run, and then it was Menzies' killer flick offload that put the Cats in for the try that sealed our fate. He was class all day - as usual - and he was ours to keep.
Just more same old same old, I'm afraid. It doesn't always happen, but it happens with monotonous regularity.

| We had a gameplan and were sticking to it but as soon as the Cats player was sent off we thought that made us suddenly turn into the RL version of Harlem Globetrotters. The triple sub - Diskin, Hargreaves and Scruton came on to steady the ship shortly after the sending off with their experience (can't knock MP for that)....... we subsequently fell apart. It was pathetic and we should of spent time completing sets and tiring the Cats defence before finishing them in the last 15 mins instead of thinking we were Saints on a good day.
As well as he played last week and in the first half, Diskin is supposed to be an experienced big game player who should be getting the game by the scruff of the neck at crucial points but did nothing in his second stint.
Leeds Rhinos are the Andy Murray of RL btw, not us because they actually think they can challenge for titles without realising they are far too to. We know we're far too to even consider it. We're probably Jamie Murray now.

| Not sure about the diskin comment above, i agree he should be getting involved a bit more but he always seems to be substituted just when he is getting the game by the neck. he was in a wonderful spell yesterday, making yards and getting penalty and then the next thing is he is going off. Some of the substitutions are strange at times, wasted ones with a couple of minutes before half time, big players taken off at wrong times. Our most go forward forwards , kopzcak and burgess need more time on the pitch. Add to that our top tryscorer not getting a game and it makes simple reading in why we are where we are

| Kept forgetting we were a man down, when Catalans attacked down the right hand side and often had a 1/2 man advantage! What was up with that? Why weren't we able to do that?

| my thoughts exactly, i dont think we threw the ball about at all, until raynors first pass in the last minute when he waltzed passed greenshields. If anything catalans were globetrotter esque . We could have the best wingers in the world and they wouldnt score ten tries between them, they simply dont get the service. I dont get this rubbish they should be looking for the ball, raynor and crookes do there fair share of graft bringing the ball out, the just dont get the ball in the right areas. How many times did blanch and the other fella get given open space to run to ? Sorry forgot they had class centres and half backs inside them

| Reason why they had 1/2 man overlap with only 12 men is because we can't slide as a defence. Also we stand still once we make 5m going up as a line instead of going to meet them, thats why Menzies always ran across without getting touched.

| Some tough matches coming up now. Next week is probably our only realistic chance of some points in the next few weeks. Cas always seem to play well at home against us though so we'll do well to win there. Then Huddersfield at Odsal and Wire away... July might not be a great month for us!!!

| We were shocking. You can read our plays like an open book, they are simple plays and we don't have many and we can't even execute them. We are slow playing the ball and don't move up in defense, hence other Teams make easy yards and we struggle to to make any yards! What's the point in having Wingers if they only ever drive the ball up the middle? When they were down to 12 we should have been passing the ball out wide and using the extra space. Instead we carried on with the same ploy of driving up the middle, you would have thought it was us that was down to 12 the amount of space they found.
The table doesn't lie, we haven't made any progress since last year! Market that one boys!
