was in t&a last week that both scruton and kearney were back in training and should be in contention for saints match. think scruton is ahead of schedule from original diagnosis. We seem to have been over estimating amount of time players would be out with injuries this year in general.

not an exact science predicting recovery times though. he could have recovered faster than expected. there also may be an element of bringing him back a little quicker than originally planned given hargreaves injury although I'd hope we dont go down that route if possible.

we coped (just about) because we have a set of players ready and able to make their own contribution even without a squad number between 1 and 17. and that strengthens the whole squad going forward.

We coped just fine, because Kearney simply doesnt make that much of a difference.
