im not going to argue about the intent as only raynor knows but ill look at the facts. the wigan player was struck in the head and unconcious before he hit the the floor. the red card was the right call. Not saying he deserves a big ban but the card had to be given. It was a bad one even it was just reckless. Yes you had 12 men but the disruption of losing sam, and losing pat on the wing to full back hindered us more then we gained especially wit the wind which made it difficult to make use of the numeric advantage out wide.

How do we know he was out before he hit the floor? Did I miss that bit?

Don`t agree a yellow card would have been enough. i`ve watched it a couple of time, does not warrant a red card. Talking of cards a couple of your players should have visited the bin. ie. o`louglin - head high tackles and Lima should have walked. S. Tomkins needs to stop being pathetic he looked alright when i saw him laughing and joking near the Tunnel in the 2nd half can`t of have been much of a bad tackle. Talented player but his cheating lets him down, hope he doesn`t do that against the Aussies he will get smashed big time.

A punch to the players head (intentional or otherwise) in the act of scoring a try should have resulted in a red card and an eight point try ... count yourselves lucky!

The disciplinary meeting will view an unprovoked attack to a players head, which knocks him out ... lets see how they interpret that! I only hope RL for once has the guts to address the issue of nobodies making calculated attacks on key players.

This Wigan team is playing well below par and is not in my opinion good enough to progress to Wembley or Old Trafford (on current form) but the facts speak for themselves ... Bradford came second today!

i found out last night that the team and many other teams in sl are coached to punch the ball out of the attackers hand in that one on one scenario to try and stop them scoring.
if this is the case that must be the only reason why raynor had his fist clenched and not open to try and tackle the player but raynor obviuusly miss timed the attempt.

to say i didnt watch it on the tv, that would have been very hard. i actually found out from a sl player but not until late last night

the way his body went completely limp at the point of contact. the way he went face first into the turf without attempting to break his fall. the way he was motionless staring at the sky without so much as a blink. badly timed or not it was a bad one a straight red. i even got a text staright after it happened from a bradford fan calling for his contract to be torn up. i dont agree with that but the red card was the right call. and to the fans saying tomkins was play acting you really do embarrass yourselves. just because he seemed ok second half in the dug out doesnt detract from the fact he got knocked out by a high shot. any other player and and there wouldnt be this debate. The tomkins hate brigade is obviously in full swing, it makes me laugh to be honest how much a hatred fro a player can cloud a reasonable un biased debate.
