| I was in Oz this time last year and enquired about him and was told he was a solid if unspectacular player who would do 80 minutes of good steady play, unfortunately Maccas changing the play systems last season to accomodate players having to play out of their normal positions has spectacularly backfired! It worked while he was still focused but after accepting the RFL's shilling he lost focus and we now see the results.
The one mitigating point is that to get the Tong Training Centre built it meant reducing the SC and also the depth and posible quality of the Squad, and Macca was hoping that a more flexible system with the players would overcome most of the Squads deficiencies!
Despite everyone laying all the blame at Maccas door, the Senior players have to take some responsibilty about results on the field playing busted or not, Fridays nights performance was shocking even the most hardend of Stains fans were dismayed by the Bulls performance let alone us lot who went!

| Quote Ewwenorfolk="Ewwenorfolk"I'll give him his second season as overseas signings can often be poor first season (Les) but if he doesn't improve i'll be jumping on the bandwagon.'"
He's been easily the most disappointing of the players brought in at the start of the season, and I'll guess he's not on peanuts as he came with a decent reputation. It does sometimes take an import a couple of seasons though, so like you, I'll wait until next year before deciding whether or not to join the firing squad.

Hopefully they will get rid of the useless big plodder at the end of the season so that no-one will get the chance to comment on "second season syndrome"
Hall is just yet another prime example of McNamara's inability to know a decent player when he sees one. Another truly awful signing. McNamara had plenty of them, hence why we are as e as we are.

He's not going to improve, he was a South Sydney reserve grader before getting picked up by Manly for cover and he ended up winning the NRL with them, but he's always been a plodder. I said at the start of the year that he was the NRL's equivalent of Ian Kirke but Kirke has actually come up with some dynamic plays on occasion which I doubt Hall could do. Anyone who thought he was going to make any sort of impact obviously didn't know much about the player, in the NRL he was someone who was cheap and relatively error-free that could be used as a placefiller to give the other forwards a rest.

As I said on another post Reduced Salary Cap = Smaller Squad and Less Quality.
Glen Hall is not the only Senior Player to have dropped Standards since Orford got injured and Macca let things slide after getting the England job!
The Club as a whole have to share the blame, albeit in different areas and different portions. Peter Hood acknowledged that at the Fans Forum!.
It's easy to pick on individuals when the Team is performing well but a bit silly when the Team in general is performing badly as of late!

| Looking at his statistics, you could say that a lot of the criticism is unwarranted.
He's played the same number of games as Kopczak, but has made over 200 more meters, almost 50 more carries, over 70 more tackles, three times as many offloads and three less errors.
Contrary to that are his 17 more missed tackles and 11 more penalties conceded, but nobody's perfect!
Compare his stats to Worrincy for a good laugh

So Hall ( a NRL Grand Final winner, as we got told everytime he was mentioned) has come to the Bulls for peanuts?
This has to be seen as a poor signing no matter how much money the Bulls have. There's no way there wasn't a better option going round the NRL who would have come on a similar deal ( 3 years was it? ).
Just a poor signing selection.

Kopczak! I didn't realise the bar to which to compare forwards in the Bulls was so high!

Like it or not, Kopczak has been a regular prop forward for us throughout this season. So yes, of course I am comparing like for like.
The difference is that Glenn is being used as a scapegoat on here by many people, Kopczak is not. I was pointing out some statistical facts showing said criticism is a tad harsh.

True but compared to a seasoned pro like Hall, Koppy is still wet behind the ears

Kopczak has had a mixed season though. He has performed a lot more strongly of late so the stats will only reflect an average across the season. His improvement has been obvious
