It means you're about to be out of a job and getting paid to sit at home. But if the company need you, they can still call you back until the leave period is over.

You are right though in that it means you're already out of a job. It's just a situation that happens when the company make you redundant and don't necessarily need you to work the notice that they legally have to give you.

Gardening leave is usually when you are leaving a company or have been asked to leave a company, not because of redundancy as that implies the job you had is no longer available

The numerous people who have just been on gardening leave from the company I work for (for now) after being made redundant will probably disagree.

It may well apply to people leaving of their own accord or being asked to leave too, but it most certainly does apply to redundancy.

i realise there has been a topic on this already, but that was ages ago and i cant find it to resurrect it....does anyone know if there is going to be a new away kit this season? i am contemplating buying a home shirt, but would rather get a new away shirt if there is a new one.

buying both isnt an option unfortunately...and as a big boned bloke, darker colours are much more flattering

Yeah there is. It will be unveiled at the launch event on the 23rd, not going to it myself, but looking forward to seeing the shirt.

i can live with that...i have a phobia of predominantly white tops, so as long as its not white then its all good.
