1589.jpg when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.:1589.jpg |

If I was McNamara though I'd be reluctant to agree to a permanent deal. We are already short in the backs and if injuries strike we will need him back to cover. If that means sacrificing a small transfer fee to let him go early.. then so be it.
'"
I agree with that. We shouldn't be looking to reduce our squad options. DH is playing every week and is obviously enjoying himself. IMO the current situation is to everyone's benefit and we have an option in him later in the season if we're unlucky with injuries.

| are big wingers that important nowadays? I don't understand the need to DH to be bulking up so much if he gets a full game at wakey scoring 2 tries against one of the more fancied teams in super league.

| I don't know about selling Halley because I do rate the lad, but as we are woefully short of centres a straight swap for Ryan Atkins might be acceptable. I would be disappointed if McNamara did simply sell Halley.

I'm sure John Kear would view that as great business.

| I'd be amazed if Halley was allowed to leave on a permanent deal before the end of this season, especially with Tupou injured and apparently on the outer. For me it makes more sense to keep the loan deal going then take a view at the end of the season.
Halley has a number of plusses and minuses. In the plus side he's enthusiastic, quick and good positionally. On the minus side he lacks evasive skills and his lack of size and power means he can lose a lot of ball in contact.

| I'm amazed he's stuck it out this long under a coach who clearly has no faith in him, if I were him I'd have sacked it off as soon as it became clear Nathan McAvoy was considered a better option.

Even when McAvoy was released?

To be fair to Halley he really tried to compete in the hair stakes as well.

| If i were Kear i would sign him permanantly, but only on a free. No way would i contemplate swapping anyone as we are short on numbers. The lad Halley is out of contract at the end of the season i think, so cant see much money being exchanged. Just Wakey taking over his contract with the opportunity of first team Rugby.

Maybe he's hoping Maca will be gone before his contract is up.

| As Halley himself rladmittedrl a few weeks back, he has fallen short of the standards set during pre-season.
I reckon this is the real reason he's not getting a break; he's lacking in commitment.
That said, I would have him at FB over Platt. And you just know that if he does sign for Wakefield he'll be on the score sheet a few times when we play 'em.

| Confirmed on SportingLife that he's extended the loan for another month. Bulls have also put a 48-hr recall clause in there.

that would seem to suit both clubs down to the ground tbh. If we get an injury then we can get him back at short notice and he's getting gametime which he needs to improve further. Be interesting to see if he gets starts when wakey start getting players back, petersen in particular.
