I looked twice and three times at this thread title thinking surely it's the quarter final we play them in - and though, obviously, we didn't play in the early rounds - I thought surely it couldn't have been the 11th round.

In these days of closing Public Houses I suspect a lot of people may now be unfamiliar with the real meaning of "a round"

Almost correct, though it was actually '[iold[/i' pence which were dispensed with in '71, only to be replaced by the new variety. However, following a very familiar pattern; new pence, plural and new penny, singular. Still a penny - all be it a new one
