The rumour about Matt Adamson didn’t really fill me with optimism as he seemed not to be involved in coaching and was more in player development. He could be an ideal replacement for Steve Ferres though. Rohan Smith is the current defence coach at Gold Coast and he could be ok – perhaps a good progression for him. John Cartwright would be a decent option. A former test player with recent head coach experience.

I’d prefer Smith or Cartwright. At a push Naylor. I think we need more than a shake up at head coach too. Recruitment has been a mess. That needs sorting and hopefully any new coach will get a grip on that.

Rohan Smith with be an immense coup. He's got bags of potential, has lots of experience with some decent sides and has a lot of admirers down in the NRL.

I always thought that the job could be a poisoned chalice which could put certain candidates off. If we were to get Cartwright or Smith then I think I would be more optimistic than I would be with a Naylor or Morrison appointment.

As for Ferres, I've heard a few things about why Jimmy left and tbh whilst I think its time to move on, it does appear his meddling has done us a favour in the fact that jimmy has eventually moved on.
