Wow! I can't remember when I enjoyed a game so much! Our defence was brilliant, especially in the first 20 when we repeatedly dropped the ball. I heard Jimmy on Radio Leeds saying that was his main issue, ball security. Shaw must surely now need to play somewhere. At the moment I'd leave him at FB with Mullaney at 7. The backs must be pretty much set after that showing. Gaskell was just class, that long range try was brilliant, I can't wait to watch ot in Bulls TV. In the forwards I thought Clough and Sidlow were in total control, they were huge again. Tahroui gets better with each game, a great offload in the build up to Gaskell's 2nd . Ferguson must play for a long spell next week, I thought he was all power when he came on. Lauaki didn't do anything for me in the 10 mins he played but it is his first run out. I can see our first choice props being Clough, Sidlow Tahroui and Davies (solely based on his 2 friendlies). How good is it to watch this side?! COYB

Great result! I was very impressed with our defence. We gradually grew into the game in terms of attack too.

Dropped too much ball in the first half. But that's the only negative. Two players playing their first games of the season too. A very good win.

Good thing is, we have plenty of improvement In us too.

Gaskell is playing like an 18 year old in an under 10's league.

Really enjoyed today. Fev have a nice little ground there

Great win and much better performance in testing conditions. Ferguson looked good whilst he was on, Lauaki didn't seem to get his hands on the ball at all in his 10/15 minutes but at least he got a run out. Tahroui (sorry about the spelling!) had his best game so far and got better as the game went on. Shaw looked good at full back. Took a high ball well ( under no pressure though), but in that wind he still had to judge it. His goalkicking was pretty faultess. Even the one he missed into the wind and from the touchline, hit the post. Mullaney at half back slotted in well, so Seijka may have his work cut out to get back in. I thought our defence was immense and as much as anything was as important as the tries. There were some colosall hits in the first half, which I think wore Fev out and they couldn't cope with us in the second half as a result.

All in all a great performance. I would have been happy with an ugly win, at a difficult place to come, so that was some victory.

I think it's clear from the games we have played and the league table that we have by far the best attack in the league.

It's important that Gaskell stays fit - him and O'brien have started the season on fire.

I cringe when I see posts like this. How can you make statements like that when we've played different opposition to other clubs? Sure, our points for are looking good right now, but to say 'we have the best attack in the league' is either fishing for bites or just biased claptrap.

Jimmy Lowes was speaking very highly about AOB in the post-match interview again this week. He's having a great season as are Sidlow and Clough.

For me Sidlow and Clough have cemented their starting places. It looks like any two from Taharoui, Luaki, Fleming and Davies for the bench prop spots

...which is a pretty amazing luxury of riches when you think back 12 months icon_eek.gif

From what we have seen of the Championship I'm beginning to think that 4 props on the bench might be the way to go, as we have certain possibilities in the starting 13 for filling in elsewhere.

What an excellent afternoons entertainment, despite the weather, great away support, we barely shut up and created a great atmosphere. Also, got to say I like what fev are doing with their ground, its a really tidy little ground and they are making great strides with the "new" stands, puts Belle Vue to shame.

On the pitch there was a clear difference in skill and fitness levels today, once we controlled the ball a bit better (dont think we completed 3 sets in the first 15-20mins) and got some field position we looked very dangerous. As others have said AoB and Gaskell really stand out at this level, but I thought Purtell, Shaw, Olbison, sidlow, Baille and Clough were also consistently excellent today. We need to find a place for Shaw and his goalkicking, superb kicking considering the conditions and close middle 8 games could be swung by goalkicking. Uliuga needs to work on ball control but he does have some good attacking skills. I was most impressed by the defensive effort though, which was strong from the first to last minute, even when the game was effectively over.

COYB.

Absolutely agree. It would have been an absolutely miserable afternoon to watch a game in those conditions at Belle Vue.

Featherstone have got a tidy little stadium there
