| If you play in SL2 (next season), is this still not classed as a super league contract?

To be honest FA, I thought that, on relegation, as the club was obviously unable to service them, the SL contracts became null and void on relegation. It must be said there are varying views on this though..

| I only mention it as I've never seen such a "SL only" contract nor do I know anyone who has, nor can I find a specimen of some "model" specimen SL-only contract and so I was wondering where people have got this notion from. If people can actually point to specific cases where these exist then fair enough, but it's just that, to date, nobody seems able to do so. Which seems odd.

| I've never seen a rugby contract of any kind to be honest FA, though I've heard the words 'standard SL contract' bandied about, but given the impossibility of a contract with an ex-SL club having any actual value, it just seems, sort of logical, which yeah, fair enough should be enough to rule it out, I suppose.

Without double checking,I'm pretty sure my lads contract states it's a super league contract .As Davey states relegation would put us into Super League 2 so no doubt a rule regarding contracts will be introduced

| I assumed it was just a standard Rugby league contract related to the club, but just had a special clause in it to cover players leaving if relegated

| This is the thing, plenty of people seem to assume, but I can't find anything to back the assumption up so I doubt it.
Any new rules introduced by the RFL/SLE now would not, of course, apply retrospectively to existing contracts. Same as any contract, they could only be altered by consent of the contracting parties- i.e. club and player.

| I'd always thought that the contacts were SL only, but I was basing that on what happened when Crusaders disappeared and the players seemed to get free reign to go where they pleased with the special dispensation, like how we picked up Sammut. Did they all become free agents because Crusaders were no longer SL and so the contracts were now void, or was that just a bit of a special circumstance?

have better things to do than listen to you whine about how the RFL are stitching you up. Some new material required.

| Look at this scenario
A relegated club( let's say us) is spending the full cap(lets not say us). Also let's say none of their players are out of contract at the end of the year in which they get relegated, very unlikely but could happen. The club would then go into the following season spending £1.7 million ish,and there is a salary cap of 900k,or whatever it is
