Funny how different people come away with different opinions on things. I left the meeting not a great deal wiser but my gut telling me that I don't think our 'friend' Mr Guilfoyle is someone I'd trust without watching my back very closely.

My wife came away feeling the same way. Said he appeared a little shaken when the Greenwood chap interjected.

I really felt like he deserved more floor time and that the chairman should have let him talk more. Some of the questions that he was putting to BG would have been hard to answer but BG could have always said "no comment." If there's any truth to what he was saying it could completely rewrite the version of events that have been put out in the media and so at the very least we should have been given the opportunity to listen to what he had to say.

And the greenwood interest?

Not substantial or with enough foundation to report it.

If you remember, said individual was shouting that people were interested in the club; when asked who, he simply said it was 'confidential'.

Greenwoods menswear? Didn't they go into administration?

Quick Google search shows they were bought out by the Chinese a few years ago - are we about to be bought out by a rich Far Eastern investor? I suppose we can dream.

As for Guilfoyle and his apparent honesty and openness... I don't know the guy and can't really comment on him as an individual. However Hood also seemed sincere and honest when he spoke at the fans forums or to the press and now look where we are (and again, I don't know Hood so I can't comment on him as an individual or person or the circumstances that have led the club to end up where we are now and that have still to be made public Whether that is due to bad judgement, bad luck or a bad economy) Whilst he has made the effort to meet with the fans and explain the situation which is definitely to his credit, he his also in a job where the ability to distance yourself from your feeling and hide your thoughts from others is a distinct advantage.

Well the guy (a director, I think) from Greenwoods confirmed once and for all that Hood and Duckett DID have a £1/2m prospective investment under negotiation, didn't he? For all those on here who were so adamant Hood was lying. He stated categorically - once he was finally allowed to have his say instead of being shouted down from the front - that he had been in discussions with Hood then with Duckett about a £/12m investment.

He said he knew for a certainty that there were TWO parties who had been interested in investing, who had been trying to talk to Guilfoyle since last Wednesday.

So unless you think the guy was lying, there I suggest is your confirmation that there WAS something behind the previous board's assertions?

I must admit, I found it distasteful and disappointing how certain people tried to shout the guy down and almost deride him. Then, when Guilfoyle asked him to say who he was, and why he felt in a position to make the statement he was, and he did, I wonder if those people felt pleased that they had tried to should down a guy seemingly looking to pay £1/2m?

The Greenwoods guy specifically mentioned their Chinese owners, yes. And I am assuming these were the Chinese gentlemen we saw as guests of the directors at Odsal earlier in the season. The ones we all said we hope they are potential investors.

I think it was more the fact he kept interrupting Guilfoyle when he was trying to put his message across. He came across as nothing more than a heckler.

But yes, the man clearly said some things to suggest he was more than just a heckler.

Aaron, maybe he was struggling to understand why Guilfoyle kept saying there was nobody showing any interest, when he clearly had a strong view to the contrary?

What probably annoyed most people, is that he seemed to be very proud of the fact he knew of two investors, but would not divulge into who they were when pushed by people.

Hey, if it turns out to be true I'll retract my statement. Kind of getting mixed messages, it seems to me that Aaron is saying that he was coy and wanted to keep things confidential and here you are saying that he identified himself and confirmed discussions. I dont know because I wasnt there.
