| Toulouse? I think the Toronto debacle makes Toulouse less likely and even throws the spotlight on Catalans who often turn out with barely six or seven French men in the 17. France RL are possibly worse than when they entered SL and if they both got to a final it'd make the Covid finals this year look packed.
My vote would be for London. The owner has invested loads over many years. They performed with credit in SL last time. If they'd had a stable ground I think there's a case they'd have been a real success story.

| Toulouse got their application in quickly. It's almost as if they already knew.
The Featherstone chairman has gone on a bizarre public rant about how the decision to give Toronto the boot was down to self interest and greed from the very people they need to impress with their application that he then went on to confirm they would be submitting.
i think we're better of out of this for a couple of years at least.

| Personally, I wouldn't rule anything either in or out. The SL clubs may well have decided amongst themselves the cash is better divided between 11 than 12 but Sky may beg to differ -paying pipers means calling the tune after all.
As for it being us, well I remember talking to a Fax supporting friend a few years back when they were looking good for promotion and he said " No, don't want promotion, it'll kill us, we're not ready". Even though the TV cash is much more now I tend to think the same for the Bulls, to be honest. We're just not ready.

| Not a fan of London going back up. They had their chance and they blew it. I actually think the championship is the perfect place for them to grow and nurture that young squad into something formidable. Jumping up to SL now would probably do them more harm than good.
Featherstone need to give up the ghost. That statement from Campbell actually contained some valid points - which were then completely ruined by him making an embarrassing comment in the last paragraph about Featherstone being the team who should go up

Didn't I call this before? Typical self interest in maintaining the status quo and the same snouts at the trough:

| The more we hear about what's on offer from SL, the more it looks like a poisoned chalice. We'd be mad to take it on under those conditions.

| The money point of view is interesting. We’ve learnt our lesson and seem to be lean (in expenditure terms). At the moment we’re getting to spend approximately £500k on players off £300k of tv money. Now then, obviously costs go up when you go to full time but you would hope the number of spectators would go up as well. Any increase in central funding could go directly on the squad.
Point 2 - it’s all about the money, stupid.
I think more SL chairmen are beginning to realise they need our away fans bringing money to their clubs. That’ll be a point in our favour as well.

| I always thought Toulouse should have been there before Catalan in the first place. They seemed to have big businesses on board and the transport links a more straight forward than they are to Perpignan. I think they can still scale quickly and there's a modest chance two top flight clubs might actually move their national team on from the joke they are now.

Isn't this a strong argument for a French SL?
