There is no guarantee about anything Child does to be honest. He is supposed to penalise offside at the ptb but failed to do so for the entire match with both sides constantly standing in front him. I don't think McCarthy Scarsbrook retired the full ten once in the entire game, against that Child was big on not standing square.

I thought the disallowed Saints try was a wrong call when watching on the big screen but with a better view at home I'm now pretty sure he dropped it. It was a close call though and a definite change for one to go our way. Then obstruction was a cert pen though and I'm surprised Lynchy did it, just desperation in the moment I guess. It was a good game overall, given the conditions, which we could and maybe even should have won and though I'm not going to blame Child for dropping the point (there were sufficient errors and bad plays from the lads which if done differently could have brought the right result) I wouldn't be disappointed not to see him again for the rest of my life.

Didn't notice it during the game but after watching the game back, we clearly had two 3rd tackles. Was a 7 tackle set. Really think James Child makes up his own rules, at one point he was giving scrums and not indicating why? He shouldnt be allowed anywhere near Super League

If his performance yesterday, when considered along with the numbers of howlers he drops on a consistent basis, the RFL will have a real problem on it's hands.

He dropped a ballock last week giving Salford a try that was clear touch in goal. He awarded a try after clear double movement at Crusaders, He had a nightmare at Cardiff to start the year. He is an all round very poor performer who would have been dropped but for some form of denial by Cummings.

If its true and it was scored on the 7th tackle then i would hope the rfl have a word with Childs,as for the result well you did exactly what any team should do and played to the whistle,its unfotunate for us that the try was scored but i cant see anything other than the result standing.

They could do an nal and offer to replay, that way everyones a winner .

Well, I suggested on our board that we should be awarded another point in compensation. You get to keep your point, coz you earned it. But we get an extra one because Child broke the rules by giving you an extra tackle to score what would have been your winning try had Lynch not had a brainfart and given us two match points.

I rather like the idea of an additional point in compensation. It would put us above Wigan.

That, quite simply, will never happen.

We didn't get a point extra after Millennium Tragic, and you won't either. Or else the inconsistency laws will be into overdrive.
