I must have missed this. At the end of 2006 few Leeds fans were that bothered about him going, and he only played a few games in the SR at that point, when Leeds were knocked out of the play-offs by the then lowly Warrington.

IMO his best form at Leeds was in 04 and 05 at centre.

The only time Walker ever impressed me as a player was coming on as a substitute in the 2nd row for GB, I'm not sure what year it was but I remember saying to the person I was with "ah, that's why he is in the squad".

When fit and on form, an outstanding player. Never over-rated, quite the opposite.

its the gravity of the injury which sees us releasing him really, if the break wasn't bad enough (and it was one of the worst) he has had problems with infection in the bone. I hope he makes it back into the game somewhere but there has to be major concerns he will ever be fit enough again for superleague, if you sign him you'd have to do it on a pay as you play deal otherwise its a huge gamble
