It is all a matter of opinion, but I would happily have had King over Danny Sculthorpe. Danny Sculthorpe has never been anything other than rubbish and he is an embarrassing signing. OK, so Kings' best days are behind him but I would rather, if we needed to make a cheap signing, sign a has-been rather than a never-was.

As for other clubs being interested in King, did he not just sign for Wakey? i.e. another club?

But you highlighted him as a player we should of signed instead of Sculthorpe. So I presume you felt he would be significantly better, an opinion I doubt too many would agree with. I am not convinced about Sculthorpe but I can see the reasons why he was signed, so will give him a fair crack of the whip at the club.


And who else? Probably the Crusaders but I think they would just about sign anyone who's played a game at SL level. It was well documented that the Giants were keen to retain Sculthorpe, so he must have shown something in his stint there.


I thought in your words Reardon was a 'has been'? H Sunderland winner and GB international... seems to fit your criteria quite well IMO.

In fairness, King and Sculthorpe are pretty much the same level in terms of ability.

However, Sculthorpe tore us apart when he was at Cas a couple of seasons back with his kicking game (I know, it sounds ridiculous) IIRC.

I'd say the were of a similar reputation. Their attributes and abilities are quite different though as you allude too.

Paul King offers very little imo. At least with Sculthorpe, he has the ability to do something a little different, much like Paul mentioned with the half decent kicking game. As a standard prop, there probably isn't much difference, but Sculthorpe just brings a little to the table which wasn't already at the club (a prop who can kick a bit is hard to deal with, aswell as the aggression).

I wouldn't say I'm happy with the Sculthorpe signing, but I at least understand it. I'd be p*ssed off if we'd have taken Paul King.

Owning a season ticket has nothing to do with anything, you don't need a season ticket to attend games. Getting a little personal aren't you calling him a fool? Just because his opinion doesn't match yours..

If your not a season ticket holder your oppinion meens nothing! Hang your head in shame! I sugest you get yourself up to Odsal and get yourself one and if you have a family make sure you get them one two! other wise your an evil person!!!
