Epic turn out !!
20k less 5k season ticket holder gives 15k to pay in
Split that 50 /50 gives a cash injection of over 225K yet fund only goes up by 80k???'"
I dunno, they will have had something to pay out too to get the ground up and running.

| The Bulls had already budgeted for a 16000 crowd so only takings over that went to the pledge.

I dont see how they could have said that. It will take the best part of a fortnight before most of the cash is received. And hopefully they've factored in some non payment

| There's a bit too much of an obsession regarding the 500k figure IMO, at the end of the day having 20k less than it doesn't change things too much from if we had 20k more than it.
If what we're led to believe is true 500k covers payments becoming due for salaries and tax/NI in the next week or two however there is no point calling in the pledges if no way forward for the rest of the season (ie the next 500k) has been identified. Raising this money in pledges this quickly is a credit to the RL community and the people of Bradford, but if there's nothing forthcoming about the next tranche of cash needed there is no point taking money to string things on for another month.
The delay in making the announcement can only be in hope of a solution being found, I think the initial hope was that the way forward would have been identified and presented itself so it could have been announced in glory in front of a big crowd last night.

I've never seen it as a foregone conclusion that the club would call in the pledges just because we reach £500k. Still a tough call

Definitely, however from reading around the net and from talking to and overhearing things yesterday far too many people seem to think that hitting that £500k mark means everything is alright.

Don't know if anyone else has seen this yet:
www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/ap ... CMP=twt_gu
Mentions the possibility of selling players to cover the remaining £500K and that Bateman may command a '6 figure sum' from Warrington.
Difficult decision for the BOD. If they aren't sure of generating the second £500K do they call in the pledges and hope for the best? What if they fall short and all that cash is effectively wasted? Wouldn't have their job for anything right now.

Also, have i read it right? They would only activate the pledges that so many people have made if they are confident of getting the second amount of £500k? How will that decision be made?

Why would they splitting the gate receipts 50/50?

| The bit about Bateman is interesting, particularly given many on here have argued that the option of administration would see us lose our best young players and therefore the logic was pledge first and contest the ownership structure after the club was saved.
Bit ironic if by pledging we've ensured the present ownership can then proceed to sell our best young players to get the remaining £500k, meaning we lose out on both fronts. I'm not saying this is [ithe plan[/i, but Andy Wilson hints at it and has quotes from Hood in his piece.
I had presumed there was potential investment on a matched funding basis - supporters raise £500k and the rest is put in by a new investor or a combination of that and the BoD themselves (and continue to hope this is the case), but if the 'plan' is a 'fire sale' of our other assets - the players, then I can see some people being reluctant to honour their pledge. The lack of info and poor communication strategy could yet see us screw up the good will that's evidently out there, so I'm hoping Andy Wilson's article is just speculation.

Forgive my ignorance - what is a pledge? Have people handed over their bank/credit/debit card details ready for authorized use when the pledges are invoked? Or is it merely a promise, verbally or written? How does Hoodie activate the pledges and turn them into cash?

| On the BBC today Stewart Duffy typified the mixed messages coming out of the club - he said that we would ned the next £500k in a period of weeks or even a couple of months! Well which the hell is it! Symptomatic of how badly the whole episode has been handled!
