Well, you can please yourself mate - but if people come on here just to have a pop then they can have a pop back.

Just a note to say again that I know of no such standard clause in contracts and have never seen one. Which is not to deny they will of course occasionally exist, but whenever this has previously come up, nobody has ever been able to back up the claim that it is some "standard clause". It's therefore not. The standard clause thing is just a myth.
I imagine now that P&R are back it might well suddenly start appearing, or something like it, in new or renewed contracts going forward but that would be a change.

Dunno, FA. Urban myth or not, there has to be some kind of work through to cover the fact that A) a club is only allowed one overseas player in the lower divisions and may well have three or four under contract at the end of a SL season and B) the sum of the contracts is almost certainly going to break the Championship cap by a significant margin.
Incidentally, my argument all along has been that P&R is no more back next year than it was under licensing - though relegation is certainly on the agenda at the end of this season - and even under big, bad, evil licensing there was the occasional club brought through...a situation I can't truthfully foresee under the latest incarnation.
P&R will exist in the same sense as the possibility that I may take a months holiday in the Bahamas or buy a new 'Roller' or private jet: that is to say whilst all of that is legally possible under the law of the land, it is purely a notional concept which, not to put too fine a point on it, just isn't going to happen. I may, or more likely may not, be proved wrong on that but it is my very firm opinion.

You don't think... the RFL... haven't thought the implications through, at all? What a shock that would be. They're normally so on-the-ball.

| If you play in SL2 (next season), is this still not classed as a super league contract?

To be honest FA, I thought that, on relegation, as the club was obviously unable to service them, the SL contracts became null and void on relegation. It must be said there are varying views on this though..

| I only mention it as I've never seen such a "SL only" contract nor do I know anyone who has, nor can I find a specimen of some "model" specimen SL-only contract and so I was wondering where people have got this notion from. If people can actually point to specific cases where these exist then fair enough, but it's just that, to date, nobody seems able to do so. Which seems odd.

| I've never seen a rugby contract of any kind to be honest FA, though I've heard the words 'standard SL contract' bandied about, but given the impossibility of a contract with an ex-SL club having any actual value, it just seems, sort of logical, which yeah, fair enough should be enough to rule it out, I suppose.

Without double checking,I'm pretty sure my lads contract states it's a super league contract .As Davey states relegation would put us into Super League 2 so no doubt a rule regarding contracts will be introduced

| I assumed it was just a standard Rugby league contract related to the club, but just had a special clause in it to cover players leaving if relegated
