| Apparently all other supporters are now laughing at us. Everyone hates it. So I'm beginning to like it more and more.

| I can't say that I was a huge fan of our 2004 home strip, I've loved them all since 2005 (despite it's apparently more aesthetically pleasing red/black/amber V), and have felt that each new home shirt was a vast improvement on the previous.
Personally, I think a "simple" design of white with red, amber & black should be a given for our home strip every season, while more latitude should be allowed for the away strip, be it "non traditional" colours (although now we've got blue, green, purple and orange in our history, there's not too much you can call non traditional anymore), or strange designs using wolverine-esque slashes.

It's ok saying that but it's not that simple. The revenue generated by shirt sales each year is quite a nice chunk of the club's income. If they don't change the shirt much, they risk a lot of people saying "well it's not that much different from last year so I won't bother". In no way saying that people must buy the new shirt or that people can't think for themselves, but that's just how it is. If you release a shirt that's almost just like last year, it won't sell well at all. The club can't afford to be contributing to poor shirt sales with schoolboy errors like that.

| I'm not suggesting for a second that the home shirt should be kept essentially the same from season to season, aside from a minor "tweak". From the 2005/06 RBA shirt to the 2007 Centenary shirt there was a big difference, likewise to the 08/09 Deakin Testimonial shirt. And going back, there were sizable differences between most of the designs from year to year.
What I am suggesting (perhaps I worded it badly) is that the home shirt should be a "traditional" type design, be it with stripes, V's, chevrons etc, while the more outlandish designs (slashes, polka dots, swirls etc) can be utilised on the away shirt. The best designed home shirts in our history were the basic designs, and I warrant a guess that they're the ones that were most popular with the fans (I'm prepared to stand corrected if proven wrong)

Your right. Saints change their design just about every year, but they always stick to the red V that they are famous for, and alter it just enough to warrant buying a new one.

It's the same with many football teams too.

| And then you'd get 90% of people moaning about how "it's just the same as last year, why would we bother buying that, no effort as usual from the club".
No matter what they do, the majority will moan. I feel very very sorry for the club on stuff like this as they really can't win.

I thinks that's unfair actually. They could easily have a significant departure from kits past and still avoided producing a cross between vomit and a migraine as they have this year.
I'm all for defending the club from nerdowells who whinge and moan at every opportunity but in this regard I believe all criticism is utterly appropriate.

| TBF, the hate for the kit is not as unanimous as it was on first look. There seems to be a significant number warming to it...[size=59 myself included.[/size
