| Quote: OldNorthernFan "(2) Hood made what I believe was the most disastrous decision ever (yes, even worse than the Harris episode) when he stuck by McNamara who, despite being a very nice person, had so very clearly been promoted beyond his competence. That decision was beyond incompetent - it was shortsighted and stupid. I believe this because even with the disastrous Harris situation, with good results and play off opportunities we could have maintained our fan base and sponsorship and therefore had the means to try to get back in the black. With a weak squad, poor results and an inevitable slide over 4 years it was clear we were going to be in an even worse financial situation. So, my personal rock and hard place will probably land me in the CC camp by a whisker simpy on the basis of those two outcomes.'"
Obviously time has diminished your memory of above events. When Peter Hood "inherited" the Chairmanship, the Club was in a real turmoil (similar to now but behind closed doors so to speak) Macca had just been headhunted by Hull as a possible Head Coach, he was persuaded to stay and take over from Nobby possibly at the end of that season, a lot of Fans knew that Nobby was looking to the NRL and it was assumed thats when he would be off!. Caisley goes, shortly afterwards Nobby goes. Peter Hood is left with a dilemma but in Macca there was a readily available in house replacement of whom everyone said he was a good Coach, with Hull still looking for a Coach, Macca was signed up with a generous 4 year contract (Peter Hood has admitted that with hindsight he wouldn't do that again) Macca is a good Coach but being Head Coach is a differnt set of Skills and you need an able deputy, Vievers decided jump ship and head for Pieland, Macca then made the mistake in making LSH & Basil his assistants, so we had an inexpierenced Coaching Team and also (we Fans didn't know this) a fast drying up cash flow, a recipe for struggling which is what happened. The rest as they say is History!

Funny you say that Adey read the last paragraph in this

| Just a reminder to everyone that there will be a bucket collection before, at half time and after the game in the stadium. It's BullBuilder members supporting the club during our biggest game for years.
"The Quest for Survival isn’t just about big donations of eye-catching amounts – welcome as they may be. It’s also about the mass of small gestures and small donations that just as vividly show everyone’s determination for the Bradford Bulls to survive, so please dig deep for that extra bit of change!"

| Quote: Adeybull "If its a choice between having a club to support - hopefully for the long term, but with a wassock of a chairman, or no club because we could not agree which wassock was the least awful, then yes - surely?
And most fans anyway (not RAB-folk, obviously) will hardly care which wassock is in charge (since they usually regard the chairman and his board as wassocks anyway?) as long as there is SOMEONE in charge to blame and moan about?
And if - as I do - you continue to believe that any period of administration presents threats too serious to risk, then you'd support the strategy that seeks to preserve the going concern? But not take your bat home if that failed?
That does not mean you have to LIKE the alternatives on offer as Chairman. As it happens, I would not wish for either if a better alternative - any alternative - was to manifest himself. Maybe one WILL should Mr Caisley, having had his revenge, then decided to sell his holding? But I'd not stop supporting the Bulls simply because of the wassock in charge, unless something outrageous happened. And neither I think would most fans? Which I think is the point Bulliac was making?'"
That was [iexactly[/i the point, Adey.

| Quote: M@islebugs "I disagree. I haven't spoken to a single person who doesn't see the connect between the ownership/management of the club and the supposedly genuine possibility that tomorrow night could be the club's last ever home game. Lots of posters disagree with my take on matters but not too many hold the groundsman responsible. It's absurd to suggest it's the interest of a few obsessives. I think pretty much every single person/poster is discussing this with reference to who owns or is chairman of the club as it's patently obvious this is the key factor not only in our present predicament but any hope we have of competing in the future.
Anyway as I argued for action from the shareholders and this is what appears to have ocurred whether CC is my cup of tea or not, I have pledged. What a sucker!'"
You really don't get it do you?
Firstly, I'm glad you've pledged, let's hope others do whilst there is still time.
You're take on the board may well be correct, I really don't know. Certainly, I agree fully that there is a problem with the the board having such a limited shareholding.
My only real argument is that now is not the time for the inquest.
If I may use an analogy, if someone isn't breathing your first reaction should be to give artificial respiration, not to go round asking how they got into that state.
That isn't to say that the hows and whys aren't important, they are, they're just not as important as the respiration and, to come back to the club, if we don't concentrate on the immediately more important things there may well may be no club left to argue over.

| Taking Bulliac's point on board there really is a here and now to deal with and we should all concentrate fully on ensuring the club survives! However, could our future look something like this;

I for one really do hope so!

| Just a thought, can the Bulls start selling next years season tickets at pre 2011 sort of prices now?
Say they were £200 pounds and on sale from next week I would definitely buy one and it may well generate a steady income for the rest of the season and into the off season.
Just a thought!

| The BOD would have to satisfy themselves that the club was solvent first, to escape the risk of personal liabilities for trading whilst insolvent. But once that is done, not a bad thought at all I'd say?

| Wont we then end up selling 2014's tickets early season 2013 to sort out cashflow?

Indeed, why not try and upsell existing season ticket holders for te popular stand to the tetleys stand? Everyone wins then especially if they stay there for next year and pay more. That way your not borrowing against next. Seasons income and may even be able to generate some new.

| Did anyone else notice that Steve Parkin's company Clipper suddenly had a posh Tea stall behind the stand last night? At the very least we won't be able to use him for 3rd party payments in the future....
