Don't laugh mate. There are one or two on here who might think what a good idea that is...

| In all fairness Potter said he would pick the team based on matchday performance and in the case of Briggs & Royston they can consider themselves very unlucky to be left out

| Best thing to do is have a nightmare of a game, that way you're certain of playing the following week! Potter has been using this method with Herbert and Sykes all season..

| I think if it was Macca who had dropped Briggs for Herbert after seeing a decent looking HB partnership for the first time in the season, and then proceeded to possibly drop our most in form player the comments on here would be a little different.
IMO Potter is not the worlds best coach as some people like to believe, I think he is good enough to get us back to being a top 8 side but I doubt we will win any silverware under him, he made some controversial decisions at his time at Saints and has made a few odd ones here at Bulls also. I'm not into the whole "let's sack the coach" thing at all but I think if these were the comments about Macca a lot less people would be jumping to the coach's rescue, it wasn't often people were wanting to trust odd decisions purely because Macca made it so why Potter?

I suspect that many have forgotten about the luxury of having a (fairly) full squad to pick from. It's hardly surprising since we've not had the luxury for some considerable time, but it allows things like squad rotation and possibly a bit of experimentation with systems. I'm not sure if the person who happens to be the coach actually makes any difference; the end result of most coaching appointments is usually the sack and there is probably more good fortune involved in being considered 'the world's best' coach than many would care to admit.

| I thought BJ and Herbert combined well today. Decent kicks and Herbert was solid defensively.

Does tonights result make Potter right?
Does this mean the sacking papers have been withdrawn for another week, or does he still get the boot for the last second penalty?

| Herbert had a cracking game, thought Sibbit did better today as well.
As did Crookes and i'm not sure how Shad/Briggs will get back in the side at the mo.

| Herbert played okay, but didn't have a cracking game imo. Some good kicks, but he still needs to take the line on more and put people through gaps.

| Re Shad & Brigss not getting back in side as today was a good performance, i am sure they will be knocking on Potters door and reminding him they were left out after playing well.

In position to deal with two kicks that were potential scores for Saints. Got through a fair defensive stint as well this evening. I wouldn't give him a new deal right now but I thought he had one of his better games for us considering the conditions.

Agreed. More than that he looked solid and confident, putting in some good kicks (along with Jeffries) which kept the pressure on Saints. It probably gives Potter a bit of a headache but it's good overall to have players in competition for places because it allows options. Roll on next week!!
