Just shows how bad the club is when we have so much dross in the team but can't get rid of them because their under contract. Sykes had a good game against Giants, but sounded like normal service was resumed as most of the tries came down his side.

Potter can tell players there not in his plans, the player usually wants to leave anyway and from Murphy's twitter a couple of weaks ago (after the cas game i think) he said some players are on thin ice with Potter. Can't get rid of them all as we can't afford another overall.

Diamond Harry: none of us do. But the salary cap rules are the rules. If we did what you say, it is likely we will be stuck with a big chunk of unusable salary cap for a couple of years. How precisely would that help us get out of the hole we are in?

Big problem with telling players they can find another club IMO is it pretty much demotivates them and also creates bad feeling in dressing room. Good idea on paper which doesn't work in practise.

The only logical reason I can see for telling them with this much of the season remaining is just common courtesy. This way they have a decent amount of time to secure their future within the game at a different club.
Unfortunately it will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the remainder of our season.

Yes, I had made the point a few weeks ago when Ah Van went off the boil form wise that Terry Newton's form in his last season with us nose dived at almost exactly the same time and that this had been down to him being told he was not going to get a new deal at Bradford. This is also why you get a lot of signings announced round this time of year, in spite of the "anti-tamper" deadline, clubs and players tend to know what they want to be doing next year long before their deal runs out for this year

You would expect in those circumstances that the player would raise their game to attract a new club. Doesn't seem to happen in reality though.

Because that's the job of agents.
