| Quote: Exeter Rhino "Before he left Leeds his form wasn't the best, and he doesn't really seem to have set the world on fire at HKR. I'd see him as a bulkier version of Paul Sykes at centre (especially on poor handling and defensive positioning) who cannot kick goals or play stand-off. He might have been worth a punt about 4 years ago but given the state of the Bradford backline you would be better served to invest in a steady experienced NRL centre (like Evans at Cas perhaps), especially now that Nero is leaving.'"
Evans played centre for us before Nero. He only went to Cas because of the overseas rules, which were then changed by the rfl after his release and signing by Cas had been arranged. I wish he'd never left to be honest, he's not a world beater but he's better than Nero, by some way, for my money.

| I wouldn't sign him - we've not been too lucky with the "injured for the season" ones we've signed recently.
Sculthorpe, Reardon, Kearney
Although Brett's great when he plays he has missed his fair share of games.

Was bad luck having to let Evans go, thought he was 1 of if not the most consistent performer for us during his stint at the club & seems to be scoring a few for Cas. He would have been very welcome in our current threequarter situation.

Agreed. Best form of his career IMO was when Leeds moved him into the second row, just before he went off play kick 'n' clap.

I must have missed this. At the end of 2006 few Leeds fans were that bothered about him going, and he only played a few games in the SR at that point, when Leeds were knocked out of the play-offs by the then lowly Warrington.
IMO his best form at Leeds was in 04 and 05 at centre.

| The only time Walker ever impressed me as a player was coming on as a substitute in the 2nd row for GB, I'm not sure what year it was but I remember saying to the person I was with "ah, that's why he is in the squad".

I was having a chat over the phone with my mate Greg who plays for Melbourne, he says he fancies taking Nero's number 4 jersey next season.
Straight from the horses mouth, it looks like he'll be joining us next season

| Would be a huge punt given the gravity of his injury.
When fit and on form, an outstanding player. Never over-rated, quite the opposite.

| its the gravity of the injury which sees us releasing him really, if the break wasn't bad enough (and it was one of the worst) he has had problems with infection in the bone. I hope he makes it back into the game somewhere but there has to be major concerns he will ever be fit enough again for superleague, if you sign him you'd have to do it on a pay as you play deal otherwise its a huge gamble

Now you mention it, I have a similar recollection. I was surprised on how well he played. Not sure when it happened though!

Horrendous injury really both visually and in terms of the gravity. Pity, because he comes across as a bloody good bloke and a genuine pro despite what some of the goons may think with regards to his conviction.
As you say, major concerns regarding any fitness pro-rugby wise but fingers crossed he makes it. God speed to the big fella.
