It's not that, my drinking time is strictly rationed and when I can go boozing at a pub it will invariably be the Fighting Cock. Also regularly call in at t'Sparrow but that's usually a lunch or shortish visit, not been there on a full sesh yet. [size=85

I did say that I [ididn't know [/iif the C&B was currently open and that's because it keeps opening and closing. Last couple of times I made a point of a trip to it, it was closed, but they are few and far between, and it could well have reopened, with the crazy vicar, or someone.
It's a shame whenever it's shut. It truly is a wonderful old place. But that, I'm ashamed to say, is probably a big part of the problem of unique gems like the Cock & Bottle. We love them and think they should be there forever - but unless we patronise them regularly it is no surprise if they can't make ends meet.
As for the Ring of Bells - personally I'd crack on straight to the Shoulder of Mutton anyway and bypass it even if it was open!
