| I'm expecting same side as last weekend, though i don't remember full 17. Shame herbert ain't ready yet.
Be a tough game, against a team we've struggled to beat since coming into super league.

| A lot of shouts for Ah Van to stand off. I've not seen anything to suggest that he's a ball player so I don't quite understand the call. Grasping at straws I think. Kearney is clearly out of his depth at scrum half. No organisational play whatsoever.
The only possible person in that squad who even slightly resembles a scrum half is Heath. It has to be Heath at 7 with Kearney at 6. I can't see another alternative without Southernwood being in the squad.

Would more than likely be my choice!
Although I wouldn't rule out Sykes at fullback either, I don't think Royston has quite found his feet yet in SL.

That was pretty much my thinking too. Think ah van Kearney offers something a little different although I wouldn't mind sticking addy alongside Kearney for same reason.

Don't think shad has found top form yet but hasn't looked out of place either. Has advantage over Sykes of playing fullback regular for last few years so until he has a bad game I'd stick with him.

L'Estrange only played a couple of games at 7 didn't he?
the more I think about it, the more I'd like one of Addy or L'Estrange in with Kearney rather than Ah Van.
Addy & L'Estrange have both got a fairly good passing game, and I haven't seen as much from Ah Van to suggest he'd be suited to 6.

| As things stand there isn't a lot to choose between Sykes and Royston but I do hope Ainscough is given a go this weekend.

If Ah Van isn't shifted to Stand-off or FB, then I don't see how he'll get in as Raynor & Ah Van don't deserve dropping imo.

| I cant believe that already in 2011 we are having the same problem as last season with our halves. I am sure that someone said that sykes would not be playing stand off this year

Ah van did spend a lot of time playing standoff last year in toyota cup though so he's used to the positioning. He did look handy there alongside Addy in the 2nd half against fax. Looks like Kearney is set in stone as one of the halves though so cant see a Ah van/Addy pairing being tried.
my reasoning for not putting L'estrange in halves would be to minimise disruption to team. Its a new team still learning how individuals play so think it will be better if people stick in there natural positions as much as possible, injuries permitting of course. I'd really like to see Addy/Kearney tried but dont think potter wants to give Addy that much responsibility so soon.

| I feel Ah Van should be utilised at either stand off or centre, for me he's not a winger.

| There's still an outside chance I might go, depending on what time my other thing finishes. But I won't know until Saturday afternoon.
Reckon I might have to check with Bulls or Crusaders tomorrow and make sure you can still pay on the gate for the bit that Bulls fans are in.

tbh that was in back of my mind too when thinking of him for standoff. Fills a position we are missing through injury and creates a space for ainscough to come in, without dislodging raynor who doesnt really deserve dropping. Cant see how we can justify dropping either walker or platt to accomodate ah van, yet he needs to be in team for the kicking and also hasnt done enough to justify dropping either.
Roystons a natural fullback so covers kearney. ainscough a winger to accomodate ah van moving into halves. And addy slots straight into loose which seems to be his long term position. So we cover for briggs, herbert and langleys injuries with minimum disruption.
Sibbit imo hasnt done enough to retain his spot so far. last bench spot is a toss up between olbison and sykes. no real preference there.
