Distinctive style too. They always trip up eventually.

| mmm..... no trip...just could n`t be d to log out of my sons profile...guess stringing two words together and no links gave the game away.
So with such a distinctive style who is the BSC imposter ?

| Right then my two pennath:
Disappointing again.
The game typified the season for me. A loss without being spectacularly bad.
In the game again, could have won it again, a few bad calls again, some bad decisions by us again, some awful mistakes again.
I think we can safely write the play offs off now.
There seems to be a confidence issue with the players now, quite understandably too.
I do still believe that we have stripped the club to its roots and have started the rebuilding process.
Macca in his interview alluded to the fact we HAVE some exciting players lined up for next year, who they are we'll see in time, but fingers crossed.
I think we'll begin to see a different club in 2010

It's ok saying that, but I'm sure he said something similar last year, then announced the Worrincy & Sheriffe signings.
Judging by that, I'm expecting Jon Grayshon & Neil Budworth to be announced soon.
In all seriousness, I just can't bring myself to believe the stuff being said. We've had so much complete crap come out in statements this year, mainly regarding performances and how great things are just round the corner, that I just can't believe anything now.
However, I can't really comment on Hall & L'Estrange, as I haven't seen nearly enough of any of them to know if they're decent players or not. On one side, they could turn out to be another Henderson or Morrison. On the other, they could be a huge disappointment. They are very much "wait and see" signings for me.
I think the only thing that's really going to make me look forward to next year is if we sign a top quality halfback. Anything else, just isn't enough.

Macca has said something similar every year and nothing has improved. Why would you expect things to change? He's hardly going to say I've signed some more average players who will in all truth add nothing to the squad but we'll muddle through.
I will be suprised to see us sign anybody more exiting than those already announced. I won't be suprised to see us sign some mediocre players though and be told how much stronger the squad will be for it.

| Simple for me tonight really then after reading through these joy filled pages of excitement;
Quote: Bully_Boxer "I think it perhaps hard for people not there to get the full picture. When we go into a game without a halfback who can create it is always going to be nigh on impossible to win. You can have the best tactician and the best gameplan but our pivotal players just aren't up to scratch any longer. The sooner Newton and Deacon are out the door the better for me.
I think McNamara has made some poor calls on player recruitment and some poor tactics and decisions at times. The effort was largely there today but after unsuccessfully trying to run through Quins we had nobody to unlock the defence.
It is hard to support the coach right now but people are kidding themselves if they believe we have the pivotal players to be walking over teams like previous years. McNamara is here to stay for another year whether people are happy or not. Our recruitment is probably finalised for next year and if Hood was going to get shut he would have done it a few months ago.'"
I agree with all that..

...and all that
What was most depressing for me today was the fact that there were not many "bad" performances as such, true there were horrible errors and mistakes but everyone bar maybe Netwon tried to put a decent shift in, no, the depressing part was just how ordinary and generally poor we were as a complete unit and that thats just our level now, poor, I never once today thought we would win.
And Quins were ordinary too, a team with no form, star players out, away and they didn't need to come up with anything special at all to beat us, fair play they di what they needed to do quite well but it was hardly a great achievement by them today but they took the 2 points easily in my view.
Utterly depressing.

That's the bottom line isn't it? Quins were poor yet beat us too easily. It was not us getting beaten by a strong team after a tough struggle. It was us shown up to be a very poor team by a team that have not won in 6 games. We made them look a class above. In fact, to be fair, they probably were.

Yep, it makes the wins against Saints and Leeds look more and more like aberrations, today was all too typical of our true level of ability as a unit it seems. And we're not improving as the weeks go by are we?

| Here's my take on it. This team can beat anyone IF they try.
The problem is they never seem to want to try. That's a motivational issue and therefore the blame lies at the feet of the head coach and his staff.
If they can't get the same level of performance out of the team for a game against Celtic that they can get for a game against Saints then they're not doing their jobs
