| I dont think the timing is cynical at all. The news broke last week of this bank issue etc. If this was new news to Caisley then in less than a (working) week he has had several meetings, not least with the remainng shareholders, potential new investors, Noble,Tasker etc and expecting him to come up with a long term plan is all pretty good going IMO. At the end of the day love him or loathe him, if our club can be saved, then just take to option. He will know he is deeply unpopular among many and im sure there is an agenda in it for him but if it keeps us going then get on with it. There cant be many owners / charimen that run clubs without anything been in it for them.

| Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "As everyone is now going to start going on about Judgment day, can we please make sure it is JUDGMENT day and not judgEment day. JUDGMENT is correct and judgEment is just wrong and ugly. It's one of those words that has only elbowed its way into common currency through sheer repetition of the mistake. People think "Judge", and haven't the wit or edukashun to lose the extra e before a consonant.
And I don't give a shiit how many dictionaries disagree, I'm 100% right so fsck them all!'"
I appreciate the effort but if I can use it in a sentence then I'll use my own judgement on how best to convey it. Cheers.

Actually I don't object to that usage.
"I'll use my own judgement" means that you will form your own opinion.
"I'll use my own judgment" looks wrong, because it alludes to a formal decision, as in a court of law, and (unless you had got one) thus makes no sense.
"Judgment Day" is when the verdict is announced.
"Judgement Day" would be some sort of weird day where everybody wanders around telling everyone what they think.

As I try to get to sleep tonight I'll be singing to the Bulls . . .
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment of truth
Out on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge,
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you.
Another shot before we kiss the other side
Tonight, yeah, baby! (Tonight, yeah, baby!)
I'm on the edge of something final we call life tonight
(Alright! Alright!)
Hang on. Peter - that Lady Gaga - she got a few quid don't she?
...or for that matter, what about The Edge?

| Going back to CC and Harrisgate (can't be bothered to go back and find the quote) apart from Caisley not spotting the contract, didn't Harris' own legal team state quite categorically that he was free to sign? That was my recollection at the time.
To be totally honest, I felt a little better at the news that things were stirring amongst the shareholders. Not least because the shareholders jolly well [iought[/i to be doing something, it is their chuffing club, is it not? As long as the club is saved I don't really care who the chairman is, and if it turns out to be Chris Caisley, well so be it.
That said, I'm far from being one of those on here who think he's some kind of messiah. Harrisgate and the way he spent the club into one of the biggest financial meltdowns of recent years are two of the reasons why chairman Hood never had an even break; all he will be known for are the austerity measures and financial worries which have bedevilled his reign, though he was never the author of either. As for CC, maybe he has learnt from the past, we all get 'learning opportunities' through life, let's hope he made the best of them.
I'm not sure why this should affect the pledge to be honest, apart from maybe taking the spotlight away slightly. Despite the few obsessives on here, I don't the the vast majority of fans give a flying squeak who the chairman is to be honest, nor do they give a stuff who sits on the board or who the shareholders are, I suspect they feel that having a rugby club to watch is a teensy bit more important.
