| Quote: Mick Gledhill "I do understand where you are coming from, but if this concept works then you can't fault the club.
I'm not a fan of the wizardry and Harry Potter references to be honest, but the club keep using them.'"
Don't get me started on the Harry Potter theme.
Apart from being kitsch and "sooo last year", it's also incredibly dangerous ground with regards to infringement of copyright. I'm not sure our legal track record would enable us to take on JK Rowling

| Quote: Adeybull "Brought to mind when I was on holiday in Cyprus couple of years ago, at the hotel's cocktail reception. One couple were talking to various others, including (begrudgingly) us, and when asked where they hailed from said "Yorkshire". My missus perked up and said "where abouts?" "Just outside Harrogate" came the reply from the posh-sounding woman. But when pressed to be a bit more specific - my Missus being from Wrose so not a stupid distance away - the woman was a bit evasive. As she was a couple of further times when others asked in passing.
Finally, someone else asked what the name of the actual place they lived in was called, and the woman had no choice but to answer.
"Cleckheaton".
I kid you not.
Your missus is clearly a lady of distinction Adey, I grew up in Wrose, kinda miss it now I don't live in Bradford. Nothing to do with the thread but I can't remember seeing Wrose talked about in any sence what so ever on t'internet....for good reasons probably!
...as you were

Classic
I deal with a lady through work who runs a company in Mexborough she has a really posh phone voice until she gets annoyed (which unfortunately this afternoon I found out is really easy) and she immediately reverts back to a strong South Yorkshire accent tha sees.

| On the T&A website today that we have sold 4,500 season tickets so far, something like 150% more than this time last year.

but that figure presumably includes juniors who didnt count towards pledge total as well. Thing that slightly worries me is that people who have pledged are now sat waiting for club to contact them for payment not realising that they now have to buy tickets themselves. Unless clubs planning on a mailshot to pledgee's in next week or something.

A logical point Mat. People in the modern era are becoming increasingly lazy and adore being spoon fed. As to how many will actually now go complete the purchase is another matter. One would hope/assume it has all been factored in to the original logistical planning.
Dumbledore will no doubt have it in hand.

| Ever since the Pledge came out, we've had a string of worried heads agonising over whether the Bulls had done this, or overlooked that, or thought of the other, or planned for X, or realised Y.
From how it's gone so far, I really don't think any of us need to worry our heads about it, they seem to have been on top of it from the beginning.

| As with the pledges themselves, don't underestimate people's ability to leave stuff until the last minute. Expect a mad rush on 12th November.

| Am I the only one disappointed with the current level of actual sales? The pledge period ended with total pledges of around 11,200. We’ve sold 4,500 season tickets in the following 18 days, leaving just 20 days to sell a further 6,700. I’m sure they’ll be a last minute rush, but 6,700 is surely a tall order.
