Only way would of been to offer an extended contract with a payrise close to the Hull offer and then still we probably couldnt afford it as stated many time we need the money hence the pledge scheme !!!

Well TBH i think the four props we have are good enough, Burgess is in need of more minutes where as Hargreaves not really given a chance either IMO and as for scruton with his injury and the news of diabetes i suspect he will be much improved next year and be back to how we know he can play, and Koppy.... Forcing a player to stay who doesn't want to be there is not a policy i would ever want the club to adopt. The game is hard enough without wantaways in your team.

How do you work that out? He was contracted to us for another year. We could have (and should have) kept him for another year.

I just wish some people would get it into their heads...if a player makes it pretty clear he wants out, and you stop him from going, the most likely outcome is that he either tosses it off till you relent, or feels he is playing under duress and fails to perform. Either way, making a stand on a point of principle becomes a textbook exercise in cutting your nose off to spite your face. You don't have to like it; you just have to live with it.
