| Well done Bradford we were battered in every department today and you deserved every point you scored. Try NOT to keep it up the next time we meet please.

Aye, and Eddie is hinting at it too. And, as we all know:

| Quote: Vamsie "If you really are a Bradford fan at least give credit where its due (although I suspect that sort of contrition is not in your make up).'"
At least twice on this thread I said it was a great result. Therefore a wee bit more research would maybe help the argument.
Quote: Vamsie " Otherwise, go feck off and annoy somebody else by pretending to like their team from a distance.'"
Ah! That old chestnut. I always wonder how long it will be before such a comment was made. That must be the Bradford Mantra I reckon?
Quite simply I was stating that it was an excellent result but it will mean absolutely sod all if, as expected, we fail to reach the play-offs. One could also question why it is that we seem to up our game against certain near neighbours and are generally abject everywhere else?
I really don't care if some of the people on here have me pegged as some sort of dour miserableist as I am simply saying things as I see them and I am keeping some sort of realism about the season.
It is not that long ago that plenty on here were laughing at Huddersfield for bringing out t-shirts celebrating a long overdue win. Their fans were mocked too, probably by some of the same people who are now doing EXACTLY the same on this thread. What an embarrassing bunch!
FFS one win and suddenly Sykes has silenced all his critics, people are calling for a number of players to immediately get an England call up and we are dominant in the rain??? What a load of balls.
Maybe for another thread but you could well ask how the players who were capable of that sort of result (and performance) have dished us up so much garbage for the rest of the season? They have cheated the fans up till now but now that they have shown what they are capable of we will soon see if it was indeed a one off freak result against a Huddersfield side on an off-day or whether it is indeed the shape of things to come?
That said, I remember similar on here the day after Worrincy scored a late score at Knowsley Road to beat the Saints in 2009. And we all know how things panned out that season don't we?
Welcome to Odsal, home of the blinkered, the naive and the hypocritical.

| Eddie, I disagree it will mean nothing if we don't make the playoffs. How much confidence do you think Burgess, Donaldson Whitehead and Koppy will gain knowing they owned an absolutley awesome Giants pack? All the above will have gained a massive boost from that.
Losing, like winning, becomes a habit, and one of the issues we've faced in the past couple of years has been a huge lack of confidence, with dwindling crowds getting on the backs of individuals, and the team as a whole.
Just enjoy the win.

No, no no, it was an excellent PERFORMANCE. The to-nil scoreline is certainly icing on the cake, but this was all about the way the team performed, and not at all about the mere fact of the result.
Quote: mystic eddie "but it will mean absolutely sod all if, as expected, we fail to reach the play-offs. '"
This is just plain wrong. It means what it meant to all the Odsal faithful, who were fortunate to be there to witness it. It will certainly mean a lot to the players, who for once will have been able to leave the ground feeling justifiably good about themselves. We were already out of the playoffs, it has feck all to do with the playoffs.
Quote: mystic eddie "I really don't care if some of the people on here have me pegged as some sort of dour miserableist as I am simply saying things as I see them and I am keeping some sort of realism about the season. '"
You see, you post as if all the people on this thread had said this performance made up for the disappointments of the season, but nobody has, and clearly nobody would. We all know what the season has been. It is ludicrous of you to imply that praising such a performance is somehow equal to being unrealistic about the season.
Quote: mystic eddie "Maybe for another thread but you could well ask how the players who were capable of that sort of result (and performance) have dished us up so much garbage for the rest of the season? '"
You could, and many have, and will, in the million threads devoted to just that subject.
Quote: mystic eddie "They have cheated the fans up till now but now that they have shown what they are capable of we will soon see if it was indeed a one off freak result against a Huddersfield side on an off-day or whether it is indeed the shape of things to come?'"
If you were there, there was nothing, at all, freakish about it. For once, they did everything right, and played as if their lives depended on it. They were awesome. This is the bit you are missing, though it's understandable if you were not there to see what we did for 80 minutes with your own eyes.

Pretty much exactly what I've been trying to say - unfortunately we appear to be the only people that have a memory that goes further back than yesterday.

| No, you appear to be the only two who seem determined not to have enjoyed the performance yesterday, and seem determined to try and bring the gloom down once again on everyone else. It'll likely descend again soon enough, without the likes of you doing your level best to help it.
But good to see its everyone else who is wrong, eh?

After 10540 post you finally get it spot on.
The law of averages suggested that it would happen eventually.
