I'd assume that there's scope to extend his deal should we need it. Thing is, what has he been doing since his release from quins? Cos if he's not in a state where he can get match fit very quickly it's all a bit pointless

2 month deal makes good sense and should avoid us having to rush anyone back from injury. If Deacon's been playing all season with a nagging injury let him get fully fit rather than throwing him back in as seems to have been done with Solomona through necessity.

However I think he'll prove himself to be good enough and get a longer contract, at which stage we'll lose the cash to spend on someone good. I vote ditch the Deacon.
There's a petition in there i think.

Don't forget that Deacon comes with a £50k supplement to the salary cap, so if, IF...we are at the cap (or will be) then Deacon is better value than he might first appear. |
