exactly. if its dorn would mean orford situation is resolved and not in our favor. Also would likely kill off the pryce rumours. not sure whether obst is classed as quota either.

Nope. I believe there's still a bit to go before the new halves are announced. Every avenue has to be pursued. Those names are only names that we've been told have been looked at.

because his quota status isnt just related to the length of time hes been over here. The likes of nero who can get an exemption can do so for 2 reasons. 1st they were over here before the quota rules changed in 2008 2nd they were kolpak players under the old system. Anyone who was classed as a quota player under the old system cannot get an exemption (although I think if they got residency before the rule change they may qualify. afaik dorn has never had residency).

| Quote Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza="Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza"He still lives in Bradford and it's no secret that both Leon and Lee Gilmour hate/hated the travelling. Lee Gilmour couldn't be doing with it especially once his daughter Ellie was born (he has always lived in Hanging Heaton near Dewsbury). Also Leon seems to tell everyone everytime he enters a pub in Bradford that he's coming back but he's been doing that since he left so I'd take it with a pince of salt. At the end of the day Saints are up there with the best and he's one of their senior players plus he still has a year left on his current contract.'"
But if we get the 90k/100k we are asking for Orford's release, would St Helens deem that a worthy payment for Pryce's release to us?

depends how mercenary st helens are. At this point in time Pryce is a more valuable commodity to us than to them. They have players on their books who can step into the standoff role and would probably not give pryce an extension at the end of his current deal. We on the other hand are desperately short in the halves department with southernwood needing another year before stepping up ideally. Saints know this and will hold out for the maximum amount of cash they think we will pay. same situation that wigan were in when we sold them fielden and we certainly took advantage of their predicament so we cant really complain if saints do the same.
If we had players capable of playing in the halves role and pryce was just to strenghen us then I'd have though 50-100k would be the transfer fee expected. because of our current circumstances Id guess that to at least double.

I think your spot on about Pryce being a much more valuable commodity to Bradford then St Helens.
But what might work in our favour is that St Helens have Eastmond and Lomax who need no introduction on here after their exploits this season.
I think they'll be the starting halfback parring for 2011 IMO.
So that should help knock down the figure.
