Dunno mate. My sister lives in Shelf, not far from Cooper Lane now, but she did live nearer the centre of the village at one time and has always had a Bradford phone code. Back in the day when we had water rates she paid those to Bradford council too. It's a strange world!!

I think that's spot on Adey. I think people originally used the 01132 because, as you said, all Leeds numbers began with a two anyway and when they changed the numbers they gave the actual local number seven digits which was more difficult to remember. Much easier to stick the '2' onto the code and remember six digits.

It is HX3 and is part of Calderdale, yes. Not sure if that means part of Halifax as such. Keighley has BD postcodes 20,21 and 22 but Guess Who (et al) would be after your blood if you said it was part of Bradford!!

And as for Tigs, he goes apoplectic at the mere suggestion that Ilkley, with its bizarre Leeds postcode, might be...

I went to a seminar a couple of years ago when one of the head honchos from N G Bailey (head offices in Ilkley) was talking. SOmeone asked him where they were based. "Harrogate" was his reply. How we laughed.

Brought to mind when I was on holiday in Cyprus couple of years ago, at the hotel's cocktail reception. One couple were talking to various others, including (begrudgingly) us, and when asked where they hailed from said "Yorkshire". My missus perked up and said "where abouts?" "Just outside Harrogate" came the reply from the posh-sounding woman. But when pressed to be a bit more specific - my Missus being from Wrose so not a stupid distance away - the woman was a bit evasive. As she was a couple of further times when others asked in passing.
Finally, someone else asked what the name of the actual place they lived in was called, and the woman had no choice but to answer.
"Cleckheaton".
I kid you not.

Mick, even you, with more than 10 digits on both hands would be able to do the maths should that be necessary on the average cost of attending a game with season ticket in paws.
That we have chosen this route of "informing" already signed up fans, or perhaps potentials, smacks of sheer tackiness.
The objective of it is clear, the execution, again, tacky. Ewwww.

But it does get the message out that for less than five pints of milk you can watch Bradford vs Leeds etc

Mick, the concept has been sold already. By splitting the fractions it lessens the perceived value of the product. Much as giving away free tickets negates the ultimate impact or intended effectiveness.
It's a little too Lidl for my liking.

I do understand where you are coming from, but if this concept works then you can't fault the club.
I'm not a fan of the wizardry and Harry Potter references to be honest, but the club keep using them.
