| Went to the Nawaab a couple of months ago and it was Ok, no real complaints, but its a long way from where it was 7/8 years ago as one of the top asian restaurants in Bradford.
I suppose any restaurant is only as good as its chef at the time. Maybe that's why small familly owned ones are better prepared to give long term cooking quality.
Cardamon in Bingley was a visit worth making twice. Reasonable prices, really tasty food. The Lamb Balti and the Hashnagi
Flavour were top notch. It's a restaurant that's at the top of its game
Not so sure about their idea of the fusion food we tasted. In the dish "Soriosha Sea Bass" it is covered with a Rogan Josh
sauce whch overpowers it.
The dish "Bingley Locks" has rhubarb in the mix with eastern spices. Try it and make your own mind up.
Otherwise spiffing restaurant in all respects

| I'm still waiting for MyPaprika to open in Clayton Heights. Should have opened by now. Hopefully will be worth the wait to have a good curry house in walking distance.

| Quote: Bradford Badger "Been to Nawaabs in Bradford and Leeds city centres in the last two weeks. The Bradford version was not near the quality of yesteryear and the whole place felt a bit run down and tatty, when before it had a plush feel about it. Personally, I'd be surprised to see it remain open much longer. The food was only ok, and I am a big fan of the place too. Buna on puri starter followed by a lamb haandi. Also to note that my companion for the meal had the trotts the following day or so after the meat thali that was much smaller than I previously remember.
The Leeds version was a little better, much busier obviously, and a slight improvement on the food front. Same starter followed by lamb nihari. Unsurprisingly, the Leeds dishes appeared dearer than the Bradford version, but might be wrong on that one.'"
Bradford Nawaab was sold 18 months ago. They are allowed to sell the same dishes for 2 years then they must change the menus. The wife and I went a couple of months ago and they didn't have any sparkling wine or champagne (They advertised 4 different ones on wine list). Gone badly downhill.
We went to the Tong one and told them how crap their Bradford restaurant was, thats when they told us about the sale.
Tong or Hudds are still very good tho.

| 4 of us went to 3 Singhs last night. Food was excellent and no one left a morsel save for a roti we couldn't manage. I troffed the shamee kebab starter which was very nice but I prefer the softer pate-like ones they do at the Punjab. However the Jalfrezi Lamb was out of this world. Portion of pilau, a roti and a couple of pints of 1664 to help it down and I left feeling like I'd eaten a pillow. Looked like it too! Definitely going back soon.

| I headed to Zouk on Leeds Road last week - loved the chargrilled vegetable tikka, ooh yes. I'm vegetarian, but presumably the chargrilled meat is a good one for the meat eating folk.

| Punjab was nothing short of excellent last night. Certainly one of the very best curry's have had in a long time. Had the chicken tikka masala (Indian Style) which is like a balti, as opposed to the British version that they also do, which is more like a korma.

| Bradford has won the Curry Capital of Britain!
Deservedly so, IMHO, but The restaurants representing Bradford in the competition were "Shimla Spice in Keighley, Aagrah Shipley, Prashad in Horton Grange Road, Bradford, and Kipling's Restaurant in Greengates."
Haven't been to any of those recently, so I think we should send scouts to sample and report.
Well done to all!

I've been to the Kiplings in Sowerby Bridge and it's very good. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.

| There is a Kiplings in Ilkley, on the station, which is good but not brilliant. Hardly a typical Bradford curry experience though.

Been to the first three in the list in the past 6 months or so. They're all decent enough in their own way, but are quite different. The first one is a large ish restaurant with a large menu, no license but cutlery and fancy decor. It's fair enough and has a branch in Shipley now too, prob to compete with the Aagrah. Aagrah Shipley is a bigger place, lacks a bit in the way of friendly service. Prashad is different entirely, Indian and Veggie, much smaller, friendlier.
One worth a visit is Shama in Bingley. Quality food, unpretentious, friendly service, reasonable prices.
