How much money have they peed away?'"
The cost of a team of construction consultants is usually about 10-15% of the overall budget, that's taking a job from inception to completion. A feasibility, I would expect to be less than 1% of budget. So it depends how many feasibilities & at what value. I doubt it is near the cost of a decent scheme but still a massive waste of resources.

| Hood really isnt helping us with todays piece in paper. H'es still pushing for 75m scheme when its clearly not going to happen. Better to meet halfway and get affordable scheme agreed, which I suspect majority of supporters would prefer anyway as it includes standing and keeps character of stadium, than keep pushing for a scheme thats unrealsistic in current economic climate imo. Only problem I see with cheaper schemes is we'd be keeping some of the expensive infrastructure which is costing a lot to maintain but it isnt clear to what extent so this may not be a problem.

| Looking at the cheaper options against an improvement in facilities which might bring in higher crowds and the increased revenue might make the ongoing maintenance costs less of a burden. Lots of mights there which worry me.
I don't think even with the full OSV scheme any decision had been made/announced to make the stadium all seater and that particular nugget came out of discussions of the rules regarding the premier league and any potential sharing with BCFC. Hmmm.

That's not true. The decision with the £75m scheme was that it was an 18,000 ALL seater stadium period.

After reading that, you've got to admrie the positivity. And to be fair to him, he's got to be seen to push this scheme.
So basically we are left with a cheaper scheme or if we can find a private developer, the original scheme.

| No chance of private money coming on board for a few years yet. Just the same with public money too. We'll need to see real economic recovery first and even then that guarantees nowt.

Sorry my mistake.
The 75M scheme was always all seater my confusion was the other OSV schemes did include possible a mixed seated/standing stadia.

| Making it all seater was probably the single most bonkers part of the plans. You can save a bunch by not installing seating in a sizeable area, and allow people the choice to stand all at the same time, no losers in that scenario.
I think the problem was the underlying sub-plot that if City moved to Odsal, that would be no good as yer soccer types have to have all fans securely caged in all-seater pens with gun turrets and guards.

all true. which is why what I suspect will happen is we'll end up going with one of schemes which retains bowl and puts a roof on but done in stages. probably sports built on northern view land + first stage of roofing built over pop side. this allows Richard dunn to be demolished and land sold ( hopefully by then land prices will have gone back up) with this cash and any funds generated from stadium sponsorship and hotel/retail part used to fund rest of roof and the other outdoor pitches etc.

The one factor in all proposals is the Community Sports scheme, ie Sports Centre and additional needed facilities.
I personally think that if they take the approach you state above ie sort out the Community elements and roof some of Odsal then that will be it.
The local and national elections will be over, there will major cuts in public spending due to economic payback and any promises made now or even then will be swiftly forgotten as we're rattling around for change to plant some trees and another water feature on the new grasslands formerly known as Forster Square.
Get whatever you can NOW and get them to sign up and pay for it NOW - and I'm against CT money paying for any stadium redevelopment/purchase for Bulls or City
Just my thoughts.

| Alan Carling gets another large chunk of the T&A to comment how 'obvious' it is Bulls should move in with City. Funny how that paper can crusade against us but have slept while the council demolished the city centre and left it like that for a decade and some.
