| Well I lost all trust in you now Dilli.
I read the topic starter and thought 'oh this must be the official confirmation thread' but oh no you've gone way done in my trusted poster list now.. filed between Mick Gledhill and Birkbybull for you!

| Ben Hornby would be a good signing, if he is still available,. Pryce at 6 and Hornby at 7, sorted.

| Quote mat="mat"im sure saints are aware of that and will hold out for the maximum amount they can get from us. whilst pryce would be a popular signing I dont think he's necessarily the answer to our problems. Whilst hes a fantastic strike player and can create something out of nothing, is he really an organiser?. We need an organising half to partner with him otherwise we'll struggle imo.'"
Well, at the moment we have an excellent SH (just) and a few guys who are competent SO's. In the above scenario we would have an excellent SO and a few guys who are competent SH's. Is there really that much of a difference?

| If Orford does come back, he'll have to win the fans back over.
I'm not fan of Dorn or Obst, and neither are the organising half we need if we lose Orford.

| If Orford returned why would he need to win anyone back over? He'd surely just have been true to his word. I'm pretty sure we can expect to see a new 7 at the club next season though.
If we did sign Pryce and Hornby.. would we have the biggest halves in SL?[*

I am. Of both. But not together.
As you say, neither are the organising type. If we signed both, I suspect we'd end up like Wigan a few years ago before they brought Dobson in on loan.
However one of those two, along with an organising type half, would be good IMO.

Well I reckon we probably just need to sign that organising type scrum half then!

I'd take Dorn if we had Orford (or another organiser there), but I don't think Obst is the type of signing we should be making, poor player imho. (plenty of heart though)

Dorn is on quota so would probably prevent us from signing said organising scrum half. If we we could sign such an organising scrum half then ideally I'd like to see us give Southernwood a chance at 6 and sign another half back to act as cover in case of injuries and to allow us to rotate Southernwood so that we don't burn him out.
