We have far more important positions in the squad before we start signing irreplaceable players in the second row. I think he does a decent job as a squad player and, with youth on his side, could well turn out to be irreplaceable himself.

I'm not sure he was ever fabled as such Eddie. He's just recognised as being a raw talent which needs polishing. Better to keep that kind of guy and lose the distinctly average blokes that ply there trade for years doing sod all at.

I agree with this. I'd sooner keep Donaldson and lose Sibbit for example. For all Sibbit's undoubted effort, surely Donaldson is a better long term proposition?

Exactly. On the field it may be that what you get from Donaldson and Sibbit is not all that different. But with one of them there's something to work with.

If and it's a big if, we let him go, I'd be wanting serious answers about why we're keeping plodders like Sibbit over potentially top class youngsters like Donaldson.
