| He's 37. Not likely to be as quick as he was. It'll be interesting to see if he's still good enough. Suggests Gaskell isn't going to be back any time soon.

It's maybe a brilliant signing. And also good to see that people in charge read the crazy suggestions from this forum.

| Blimey, how many times have we been rumoured to be bringing Sammut back to the club. Now at age 37 he finally arrives. Well i hope he works out for us, only time will tell.

| Not sure what he has left in his legs but we needed somebody and I imagine options were limited. He always seemed to enjoy his time at Bradford so I would expect we will get 100% effort if nothing else.

| Sammut. Good lad. Him & Lilley can share tactical kicking, Mitch can get a breather, Holmes can focus on his job. It’s all good.

| Well, according to Wikipedia, he's played a grand total of one game this season - for Workington.
So I don't know how fit he will be. Let's see.
It shows the scarcity of half-back options to sign before the deadline

I didn't realise how few games he'd played At his age he's not going to have the fast feet of old. All these videos the club is sharing of his exploits nine or ten years ago are all very well but he won't be the same player now and he will be targeted as a potential weak link in defence. As you say it shows how few options there are.

| if hes on the field more than gaskill, better than nowt ... i don't remember him being made of byskutes so shud be gud. at 37, I'm sure he must have learned a trick or 2 to offset the lack of pace. that being said (as did OP Bullmania), flip a coin, its going to be gold or a discarded snot hanky (with absolute no disrespect to any player who takes to a rugger field)

| I don't mind him not being able to run the full length of the field. We don't need him for that. We need him to give us other options near the opposition line and take some pressure of Lilley. Which he'll give us. It also means we don't have to flog Souter as Ott can share the workload.
But please for the love of God don't let him take any kicks for touch penalties.

| I mean when he played for us he gave away as many as he scored with his "unconventional" style of play and then signed for them wa*kers helping consign us to relegation from Superleague. But yeah, amazing - are the club planning to bring Cruston and Kopout back too?
I know we're short at half back this season but he's a geriatric. Is he going to guide us around the park when he's practically old enough to need a zimmer? People gasped when we signed Steve Menzies who was younger and an NRL regular. Not a has been League one player.

| The sad but true fact IMO is that he is now our most potent attacking threat! Not sure if that’s exciting or sad?

He played 9 games for Town this season, but he now has a job as a private bodyguard outside of RL and buggered off to the Middle East for 10 weeks with his job so hasn’t played since mid-May. He was on “pay as you play” terms so I’d imagine it’s the same with you to accommodate his job. FWIW, he was pretty poor this year even at L1 level, his legs have gone and he’s not the livewire he once was. Town were happy to get him off the books when you guys asked to take him on loan.
