Strangely looking forward to this one. Maybe it's the Jimmy effect or because I'm still on a high from Wigan, but think we may actually win this one. Jimmy will have them even more fired up than Wigan. He loves nothing more than getting one over Leeds. Hopefully we'll travel in numbers and get one over the old enemy.

| Friday could potentially be the last West Yorkshire derby for a few years due to our imminent relegation to the Championship. Even more excuse to get yourselves down to Headingley to support the Bulls. As always, I'd expect that boys to be up for this one.

| You stand a much better chance of a win now with Watkins, Moon, Hall, Peacock, Ablett & Sinfield all out for Leeds.

| Wow definitely one last chance to put the rhinos in their place before we drop after our win & with those players out. Not looking like the home banker they stated on their website right now is it.

So Halifax, Batley, Keighley , Dewsbury , Fev are all in longer in West Yorkshire?

Have I missed something ?
Are Leeds going to be the only West Yorkshire team in SL next year ?

Yes you have, this is a Bulls thread and most Bulls fans place the Leeds derby match as the one to win. This is what they are referring to. But maybe you already know that.

| This is one fixture which has often gone 'against the grain', with an unexpected winner; either way round.
I always feel we're in with a chance at Headingley, even more so than at Odsal [a feeling I can't fathom, to be honest, but there it is] so I'm far from devoid of hope.
Rhinos are a top side let there be no mistake, even with a few rested, but if we go in all guns blazing and with Jimmy as coach I suspect we might, then who knows?

| I dont normally repeat what ive put on another thread but here are my thoughts on the "Derby" matter,
Thats because Fax havent been in the top flight for quite a while now and the majority of fans that sing "we all h8 leeds sc*m" is the younger generation that have only really experienced leeds derbies, leeds now does seem bigger as its grown over the years.
I wonder how many of the "younger generation" of fans that now attend remember,
1997 Halifax Blue Sox Vs Bradford Bulls @ Thrum Hall
Bulls win 30-26 after an epic comeback
Back then rivallry with Fax was far greater than it was with Leeds (although beating them in the CC Semi finals was a treat - especially Brian Mac smacking 3 leeds players LOL)
However this is only my opinion and how i remember things.

| Changed days indeed. At one time this was an eagerly anticipated match, and now we can afford to put out a load of youngsters. I personally would have loved to have seen a full toe to toe scrap, but for once, can understand BMD's tactics.
So, an end of an era bullys. I do hope they don't play Chopin's 2nd piano thingy when you come out..... ;0)

| Still eagerly anticipated by me Billy!!
...and shocked to learn the Rhinos are now playing Chopin from time to time, mind as we once played the Coronation St theme for Salford to run out to, I guess we deserve whatever we get, and a bit of Choppin [lol] will be fine.

| Meh. Mac is only playing the reserves as he recognises the futility of any team he could put out trying to beat us. He rightly is saving his powder for games where they have at least a chance.

For Leeds fans of my generation Cas was always the bigger derby through the 80s and early 90s. Older fans would say Hunslet, younger Bradford.
So I suppose we'll both have our old derbies back next season...
