Well I'd possibly agree if the OP showed they weren't at the game as it was the Saints fans booing at the PTB.

I was at the game and posted this at half time. It is a genuine post as I could see no difference between the teams. But if you want to hide the facts after the game thats fine

NO DIFFERENCE!! Saints continually wrestled on the ground all game. It was a joke. I don't mind a team slowing it down when they dominate a tackle, but it as the slowest games of rugby I've seen. Then Roby pinned us for nothing penalties. The penalties he gave compared to What he let go were pathetic! I find it amazing Saints didn't do anything wrong for 35 mins then Roby pins you twice in the same minute! Worst performance I've ever seen from a referee!

The point whooshing over your head would be that IF there was no difference between the teams, how come the Saints had been awarded a string of penalties for the first half an hour, whereas in that period the Bulls had been awarded, er, none?

Quite clearly the OP was not at the game or not watching it or something. Or else is insane.

There was nothing whooshng over my head. The penalties awarded against you were not for lying on - but e ery tackle the bradford fans were embarrassing themselves by booing for a perceived infringment by saints. But each tackle that bradford made had the same type of technique nvolved that consisted of players lying on in the tackle to slow the play down. Same length of time and same technique. You should try watching both sides and judge if a ref is being ststraight rather than winge because you are getting penalised

Yet only Bradford got penalised.
I think therein lies the problem, and hence the boos.

Thats a far more sensible answer. If it was just born out of frustration because bradford were indisciplined then I can see that. But listening to the boos from the teraces It seemed like you thought saints were doing something different to bradford.

I think you miss the point. Bulls got penalised for doing the same thing as Saints. Saints didn't get penalised. The boos were for the one sided refereeing.

No we were booing because the ref was not consistent in his application of the rules. I have no problem with the penalties he gave, my problem was he only penalised Bradford and allowed Saints to dominate even more. Debatable whether it would have affected the end result with our defence the way it was, but that doesn't mean we cant query the referee's performance. It was one of the worst performances from a referee I have seen for a long time. Even the Saints fan behind me in the pop stand was agreeing that at times Saints were worse than Bradford yet Bradford were penalised.

Precisely. Numerous times Bradford were penalised for laying on and messing around at the PTB. Often quite harshly. Which is fine, providing both teams get the same treatment. They didn't. Both teams were laying on, both teams were messing about, only one team got hammered for it.

Hence why people were disgruntled with the official and made it vocal.

You can't ever complain about an official enforcing the rules. Some will do it harshly, some will do it softly. The only complaint comes when the same isn't applied to both teams, and that was the case today in many people's opinions.

It's a shame really, as had the official had a really good game, Saints would still have won comfortably anyway (as they were by far the better side, especially Lomax and Soliola), but people would be talking about that rather than a poor performance from a referee.

Well put chops

You can't hide from the fact that the Bradford defensive performance was woeful today but as others have said the ref had an absolute shocker. I thought Bradford steadied with the introduction of Langley, le strange and manuokafoa but the damage was done. Some of the assistance from the 'child' like touch judges was equally poor too.

I'd say there are more than usual complaining about the ref on here today
