| in light of real danger of bramley buffaloes being close to extinction i just wonder if the so called rugby league family will step in and support them to same degree you were fortunate to receive.
the cynic in me thinks not because like blackpool and others were not in super league they will be allowed to vanish.
will be intersting to see what happens i truly hope i am wrong.
as the bulls came close to going wonder how you fans feel.
by the way the post is not having go at bulls whilst i believe you were dealt with leniently to a point by rfl whats done is done but will leave rfl open to justifiable accusations of double standards.

| What precisely would you like the RFL or the Rugby League family to do?
The only things I can see where I could help is:
1. Go and play for their currently non existent reserve side so they meet that criteria. Given I turn 40 next month am hopelessly overweight and have no talent, I'm not sure that would help much
2. Go and play for their currently non existent junior side so they meet that criteria. Not going to work, see point 1
3. Go and play for their first team do they don't have to cancel fixtures at either end of the season when they are unable to field a team. See points 1 and 2.
If, however their circumstances were even remotely like the Bulls', then I would whole heartedly support the RFL doing what they could to help.

| I suspect most posters on here will not be aware of what is happening at Bramley. And all I know is that they look to be being kicked out of the Conference, which staggered me when I read it but I know no more than that.
So how about actually explaining to us all what exactly has happened first, before trying to draw comparisons with what happened here?

| To compare Bramley situation to Bulls is just silly.
A few of my mates play for them, so this news is not what i want to hear for them.
However this was always going to happen. There's no juniors or reserves. No ground of its own. The team it has borrows players from winter clubs so didn't fulfil their fixture list at start and end. Even then this season it has struggled to get a full 17. Apparently failed on other NCL criteria which is well known to stick to its criteria.

| I have good memories of Barley Mow and McLaren Field. I recall that not too many years ago a group of fans formed a committee and reestablished the club. They were successful and the Buffaloes did very well in the Summer Conference.
I don't know if members of that relaunch group are still around and whether they or others are intending to make an appeal. If they are and money is required then I for one would contribute.I would hope that local professional clubs (Bulls Rhinos and Hunslet at the least) would help . Dixie's post suggests that the problems are not monetary-- if that's the case then it does need an organising committee to start the ball rolling.
It's important that we do our best to keep league history and tradition but let's not confuse the 2 situations . each case needs different solutions

| I don't see why Bramley will cease to exist outside the NCL. Nine new clubs have just been accepted into the league this week to form the basis of a new Division three, each of them has played at some point in regional leagues over a period of time until they met the strict criteria.
I coach an NCL team myself, and I also know people that play at Bramley. The last thing I want to see is clubs going under, at any level, but at the same time, letting in a team that isn't upto the standards the league requires would open a big can of worms, and be detrimental to the competition.

| Bramley are a community run club. Something I, & others, suggested as an option for the Bulls...

| I was at the do with Jamie Peacock when Bramley set up again a few years back and would happily go to a fundraising event and throw a few quid in. I'd also happily go to a few games when the Bulls aren't playing.
Hope they survive.

| Lots of memories of games at the Barley Mow/McLaren Field and it would be a sad day for RL if such a historic club as Bramley were to go to the wall, and I hope the club survives and moves on from where it is now. Lack of junior teams does suggest a lack of local interest, which I find a bit hard to believe, to be honest.

| I hope they survive, however there does appear to be a lack of interest in the local area, and are having trouble raising a team and fulfilling fixtures.
In answer to the OP i notice there is nothing on the Keighley forum offering assistance, i suggest that this is just fourth division trolling!

| I was born in Bramley and spent my first 5 years there. The idea of them not existing is absolutely absurd when you consider they were beating everyone in Div 3 (or whatever its called) year on year relatively recently.

Its not absurd when you think about it, they as has been said raid local clubs for players, who then due to play offs etc have to wait for players to come back as i know some of them were getting paid! You would have thought the money would have been better spent on giving th eclub some structure as someone has said all they are are a name, no 2nd tea, no juniors, no ground, and as for beating all in front of them they have won the competition twice since its inception in 2003!
