News coming from the T-internet seems to be confirming the bulls will be a SL team next year!!!!!!

From what i can see - it's only a 1 year probationary licence (no idea why...) and will be reviewed in 2013!

Several journos tweeting this. My guess would be that they couldn't get the 'mini licencing round' organised so have put things off for a year.

Bradford Bulls awarded probationary Super League licence

The RFL Board of Directors has awarded a one-year probationary licence to Bradford Bulls which will allow the club to remain in a 14-team Super League for 2013.
The decision of the RFL’s independent Board of Directors was relayed to Bradford Bulls and the sport’s other member clubs earlier today and ends the uncertainty that has surrounded the structure of both Super League and the Championship competitions in recent months.
Bradford Bulls were reinstated as full members of the RFL earlier this week after the club’s new owner provided all the financial information required for the governing body to complete its due diligence process.
RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood said: “This is a very positive development which provides stability for all the clubs in Super League and the Championship and allows the sport to approach next season with even greater confidence.
“The Board deliberated long and hard and took into consideration the many views of the sport’s various constituents before reaching a decision which we believe is in the best interests of the whole game.
“The new owners of Bradford Bulls are to be congratulated on their foresight in purchasing a club which we always knew was a very attractive proposition. Their investment in Bradford Bulls is a vote of confidence in Super League.

“A probationary licence allows us to closely monitor the performance of Bradford Bulls next season and develop a view on what direction we take in future years. That direction will be framed by the ongoing strategic policy review that we expect to present to clubs in the first half of 2013.
“The probationary licence also precludes the need for a mini-licensing round, which the overwhelming majority of clubs accept was impractical given the timeframes involved.
“The RFL Board and Executive will continue to work with all member clubs to build on the terrific progress we have experienced in 2012.”

With the best will in the world, two or three clubs may have been through what we have by then and our problems will be a dim and distant memory (with the greatest respect to unpaid creditors).

As long as OK can get us back on our feet, I feel that this is our SL future sorted for the foreseeable.

Seems the fairest way I guess, who wants to begin recruiting a SL team so late in the year, I'm guessing next years mini licensing round will be decided much earlier in the year. However, it seems this decision could have been made a long time a go and has adversely affected our recruitment for next season.

But it's good to finally have a decision and let's start putting pen to paper on some contracts.

The probation makes player signing difficult as only 1 year contracts may eb offered.

Too late for a proper licensing round. This at least gives us some stability. With the right decisions and with fans rallying around we can be sure of SL status in seasons to come.

Hopefully the players and staff will get looked after now.

I don't see a problem in signing players for more than one season at all. You just insert an escape clause in the event of us losing out license. Which TBH I can't see happening now.

I don't think so, as all SL contracts cease if a club exits SL, so no reason why we couldn't sign people up for longer as per.

I honestly think 1 year is just a smokescreen to keep the Championship clubs that want to get in SL at bay.

I would bet £100 now that after 2013 we will hear the RFL saying well done Bradford and he is your new license.

But good news for the fans for a change.
