| Once upon a time, 1964ish, the RL family rallied around to help one of its own in their hour of need.
48 years on that family is so divided that the poor relations who had been thrown out in 95 to fend for themselves on the scraps thrown into the bins are now laughing their ----'s off at others distress.
Our sport is torn apart and we need unity to recapture what made us so proud to be RL fans, not SL or Championship ones. RL was a proud family who looked after each other, lets get that back into our sport before its too late.

| Why did you feel the need to use Bradford's plight as an excuse to push your tired agenda because your tiny village team will never be good enough to play in Super League under a fair system? You pathetic idiot.

| Shocking way to twist something to fit your own agenda, you just have to look at how 99% of fans have reacted, including giving there own money to the club aswell as the actions of the Widnes Chariman and many others to see that the RL family is still around and most don't have a chip on their shoulder

| RL supporters in general are some of the nicest people I have ever met, and are as generous as any people I have come across supporting numerous charities with their hard earned money and equally their time and compassion.
The RL family is something of a modern day myth though, more so now in the dog eat dog world of professional sport and business. In the old days of the semi pro game when much was done by favour or good will I can imagine this family may well have flourished.
I cannot imagine it has existed as anything other than a legend in the last twenty years and it is and (I imagine) gone forever.
I can't name a team or a group of supporters that don't hold a grudge against another, the RFL or whatever, and self preservation has become the order of the day.
As much as I wish Bradford or any other club well, it would not be at the expense if my beloved Wakefield Trinity and I'm sure that's how most others feel.
The contrived way that the RFL manufacture hostility amongst fans of rival teams doesn't help, I don't feel hostility in a matchday towards Cas or it's fans, but as we both scramble for safety in new stadia we are at each others throats on an almost daily basis.
The eutopia of SL causes much anger and animosity and causes the clubs to behave irrationally, and if the truth could come out, that the game is bent, because the governing body is inept, negligable and corrupt, we could all probably regathering our strength and composure and once again concentrate on what really matters rugby league.
Kill the SL myth, maybe the RL family may emerge once again from the Red Hall cellar

Brilliantly put, Kinleycat - and a really sad day not only for the Bulls, but for the game (and note I say game, not business) as a whole. My fingers are well and truly crossed for the Bulls fans, cos we (Trinity) fans know what it's like to be on the edge of the cliff ........

I think your very wrong, and using the Bradford plight for your own agenda. If you cast your mind back to the "pledge" you will find well wisher from all clubs. The odd Individual happy but well in the minority. And donations from lots of different clubs. I a Leeds fan worked a bank holiday I didn't want to and donated for my sibling who is too young to earn any brass and is a bulls fan. And there were lots of other donations far more generous than mine from fans of other clubs.

I am in the Kinleycat club, I feel for the Bradford fans because after you remove all the carp thrown about by scrotes like yourself, its the emotions of the real stakeholders of our game that the RFL have been playing with in recent years.
Bradford will survive if its stakeholders wish it to do so, it may go through name change, it will go through uncertainty but it will survive because it means so much to its fans.

Agree with you mate, but you can't uninvent the eighties and all the nasty selfishness that went with it. The world changed forever back then. Of course it's not just in rugby league but ingrained in the wider society; when Prime Ministers say, "There is no such thing as society", it undermines all the kind of actions and feelings that were once regarded as the norm, not just within RL but in communities at large. Sadly, as Pandora found out on opening the box, you can't always put the contents back in place.

I've never been one to get drawn into the "hate" mentality. Our big rivals are Leeds and I detest losing to them more than any other club and obviously enjoy our victories more too. but I don't "hate" the leeds club, or its fans. In fact, I recognise that the rivalry between the clubs has a positive effect on both; the games are regarded as big events by both sets of fans and are exactly the sort of things which drive the popularity of the sport. Not only that but I've worked with so many Leeds fans over the years (and Fax, Cas, Wakey, Dewsbury, Hudds Batley, Keighley etc) that, well it's pretty hard to dislike nice people to be honest. At the end of the day all fans are, in general, the same.
One of the drivers of "hate " is the social media though. When individuals turn up on message boards making downright nasty comments it only causes others to reply in a similar vein. The boards are powerful tool and are very useful for enabling fans to 'mix' but they do have this downside. What is worse is when a comment from one individual is taken as the general feeling of the fans of a particular club. [iAny[/i fan of [iany[/i club who wishes bad fortune on another is just a numpty, imo, and a low end numpty, at that.

| Surely it's better to have banter between RL fans than have to talk to some numpty about football?
I think that there are very few RL fans who deep down don't respect and support each other and in times like these we have to show this support. It's the actual club/board rather than the fans that I have issue with and how they have lorded it over others in recent years. Bradford have now gone bust twice and they are one of the better supported clubs, though this may be to do with the cheap season tickets. These tickets mean that support was taken away from other clubs with an unsubstainable business plan so that's my beef with the board.
It's now come home to roost.
