As a naive Cougar supporter for over 50 years, what I fail to understand is why there is any reason for anyone (with the exception of Northern supporters) to donate anything to support their inept Board.

As far as I see it, the Directors who are asking for donations (who have brought-about this situation solely through their actions) have done absolutely nothing to justify their case.

Why should anyone give them anything when they are offering so little in return, let alone such a complete lack of information - apart from ‘Give us your money’?

Does anyone:

• Know why this situation has arisen so suddenly?
• Know what the individual constituent debts are?
• Know what the overall debt is?
• Realise that, when a bank is derived of its sole security for lending then the agreed facilities must be repaid ‘on demand’? If the Directors, could not or did not read the facility letter then they are even more-naive than I thought?
• Why, before pleading for support, the Directors HAVE NOT OFFERED THEIR INDIVIDUAL PERSONAL GUARANTEES to support their banking facilities?
• To what percentage of the overall Issued Share Capital their cumulative share-holdings amount?
• Why Bradford Bulls is considered to be a ‘Special Case’?

Never, since the advent of Super League, have I seen and heard so much undeserved publicity about a single Club.

In the beginning it was ‘dog eat dog’ and the Cougars were destroyed by Caisley and his mob from fellow Super League clubs, despite them benefitting from the Cougars stance against Murdoch. Then there were only Cougar shirts seen in Keighley, now there are Bulls shirts seen on the streets and shops of Keighley, just as (I imagine) there are in Halifax, Batley and Dewsbury; but these will (no doubt) be worn by the ‘glory hunters’ and cheapskates who bought their Season Tickets via the cut-price offers that Northern have made and still dare to use the auspices of the RFL to target TRUE supporters of Championship clubs with their cut-price (£10) admission offers.

I, like every TRUE supporter of a Championship club have their principles and, even if Northern were one of the lat two clubs in the RFL/Super League, I would NEVER demean myself by giving them my support, despite the fact that I love the game!

I know that people from Keighley are renowned for being backwards but your post might have had a little more impact a week ago. You know, when the rest of the world was asking these questions.

go and read the 120 page thread about going bust. then when you have finished hopefully we will have survived and can go back to playing in SL, thats the top comp by the way!

Is this something the club have confirmed? BBC still quoting the sale of the lease as the reason the bank pulled the overdraft.

Nice one Adey. I spent several years helping to coach Keighley kids and took stick from Cougar fans the whole time - well balanced in the main, with chips on both shoulders. Got tired of the high sixes after a while...

Dunno, but Einstein there called us "Northern" yet said it had been supporting "Cougars" for 50 years.
