Would someone like to explain how he stayed on the pitch after that? If he does not get a serious ban for that then there is something wrong. Any Wire fans like to justify his actions?

I think the only thing that saved him was the fact that he didn't connect with Ben's head, it was more in his chest.
Still disgraceful and deserves a ban though, if only for the intent.

Daft thing to do, he may not get a Ban because he connected with the upper chest and Chris has a good disciplinary record which may mean he gets a suspended ban or fine or both.

I am not sure that will be much of a defence to be honest. Whitehead, Raynor had good records but it didn't stop them getting heft bans for their "brain-farts".

I don't know how the ref could give a penalty - which must mean that he saw it - and not take further action. I could understand if he never saw it, but giving a penalty tells me that he did, yet thought it merited no further action. Unbelievable!

He didn't even take the usual soft option of putting it on report

I can only surmise that the ref did not have a clear enough view of the severity of the offence to send Bridge off. Even after a short discussion with his TJ he was unable to make that decision- even for a sin-binning

Lets see what the RFL do when they can see the severity.
A three weeks ban I would expect.

Why cant the fourth official help out it was so blatant. A ban for the next three games is no help to the fouled team.

Exactly. If he get's a ban we don't get any benefit!

Fourth officials are not allowed to intervene though are they. They would never dream of getting involved without being asked would they?
