| I don't want to go down the road of blaming all our troubles on injuries, but i would be interested to see a "league table" of which teams have been hit hardest. Does any one know if there is such a thing ? E.G 1st team players weeks out per team

It would probably be easier to look at the number of players in each squad who have played say 3 or more games (i.e. had to fill in to cover injuries)? The teams that have had to play the most players will probably be the ones hit hardest by injuries.
I doubt you'd find a table showing the stat you're looking for, although it would be very interesting.

| How would it best be done? I don't think the Bulls or the SL website would list who is unavailable for selection for injuries, so you would have to look at the match preview and reports from the local paper & on the website as they usually list w,x & y unavailable due to injury & z due to suspension. Fairly time - intensive searching & collating of info. Would need to be done for each club to be useful. Would also be easier to do for next season as you go along.

| I think I remember reading 20+ Bulls players have missed 3 or more weeks with injury this year.

| I would say FearTheVee's suggestion would be the best one to approach. Look at how many players we have used this year and how often we have used them.

| Without trying to de-rail, have we had any player "ever-present" this season?

| I thought all season our injury list has been bad.
From memory players that have spent time on the side lines injured and not able for selection-
Langley
Kearney
Herbert
Scruton
Sibbit
Olbison
Heath
Diskin
Walker
Bryn(think was out for 3 or so weeks)
So thats 10 I can think of to key players...
dont want to put our bad season down to this...BUT if we had bit more luck with injuries ''could'' have been so different dont you think??

| Diskin was reported as having the shoulder problem for 10 weeks before he finally went for surgery probably because Le'Strange was already finished for the season.
Briggs broke his wrist while on loan. maybe wasn't the first choice at that time but unavailable non the less.

| The other problem, and one that would be hard to quantify with statistics, was that we always seemed to get more injuries just as key players were coming back. As soon as it seemed that our injury woes were over, we got another couple of key players crocked
That meant there was never any kind of consistency, or ability to be people to pick the same team two weeks running. With so many new players coming into the club at the start of 2011 that must have had an effect

With so many new players coming into the club at the start of 2011 that must have had an effect'" not statistics, but analysis does show. I trawled through the news and squad announcements to see who was injured, and then compared the numbers each round with our league position up till round 24. We were 7th and climbing up the table at one point, and during that time we had just a few injuries. then they did really pile up, to about 7 or 8 of that list, to the point that Tom had to play and Elliot was playing centre, and for a few weeks. And as you say there was no consistency. Down we went. the last game just epitomises the problem: Addy, a loose forward playing hooker as Heath and Matt were crocked, gets crocked, and O'Brien as well. What team can perform to their best without two hookers? So we may not have made the top 4, but the early signs were we would get in the play offs. and I for one do point to the injuries for a major factor (no not the only one) as to why we didnt. The thing that is wrong with my statistic, flat earthers, is that it does not show who is back from injury but not fully fit, Diskin has been referred to, Langley I suspect was well short, etc. As Martin Johnson said, sportsmen are in a grey zone between injured and fit. So for next season along with the new players the most important thing is to avoid the same sort of injury problems.
