| You can do nothing to stop them, there's no pint at all in trying to keep a player IF he wants to be elsewhere. It would be a major blow, but perhaps shows that those bagging him on here don't have the same assessment of his abilities as the NRL scouts.
If he did go, the bit about coming back to us is just window dressing, and pretty meaningless, really. Since if he made a go of it, he'd stay there as a fixture.
Pretty depressing rumour, really. But how poor is the standard in the NRL, if one "failing" Sl club in the doldrums is alone potentially supplying about half their players?

| I hope not seems to be that we just can't hold on to our talent, if he is rumoured to be talking to them already then we must have given permission so do we have a pontential replacement lined up?

| Well it's a surprise to me as although he's got potential he's still got a lot of rough edges.

| I'd be gutted to lose him but he has to put his career first.
The poor standard of our comp means the route for young English players with potential should be a season or 2 in the NRL.

| I might bump into his sister in the pub tonight as she sometimes makes an appearance. Will see if there is anything in it from her.

| Seems an odd one to me
I mean, the stats show that he's made more errors than any other player in Super League this year, so unless they've got a foolproof plan to eliminate his error making, it doesn't seem to me that he'd make the grade in the NRL
But then Michael Worrincy went over there, so who knows?

And another failing club supplying another.

| Does make a lot of errors and more worringly ALOT of missed tackles. But he has plenty of potential and his performance on sunday was superb. If he can work more on getting rid of the errors in his game,he's a future international.
I don't know why the Bulls are so weak when it comes to contracts and the NRL. We let one of the brightest young British talents n the game go for £100k, while Salford got £250k for Myler. Bradford is Whitehead's hometown club, so it isn't a case of he doesn't want to be here, but he might prefer to go Sydney. But if the Bulls put a transfer fee on his head, Souths will probably back-out and Whitehead will probably be happy still playing for his hometown club.

| The massive strength of the AUD (and NZD) at the moment makes Aus (and NZ) salaries look much higher in GBP terms than they have ever done. So expect a lot more tempting from the antipodes, I'm afraid.
What the aspiring Brits won't realise till they get there is that most of their costs will be in AUD or NZD too, and so they won't be quite as well off as they thought they would be.
It is exactly the opposite of several years ago, when Sterling was far stronger than the Aussie or Kiwi. Then, we were able to attract lots of antipodeans with what looked on paper to be fabulous salaries (except for Wire, obviously, where players go because it has always been their lifetime's anbition and not at all for the money...). Then they had the mother of all shocks when they realised about housing costs and the cost of living generally, and that their costs were in Sterling too.

| I'd imagine it's likely down to him hearing how much Sam and George are enjoying it down under and wanting to test himself in the best RL competition, if only for a couple of years.

19829_1320257469.gif Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_19829.gif |

Yep, and you can't really blame him for that tbh

| When Aussie clubs were rumoured to be sniffing around Mossop and the Tomkins they were given 5 year deals. Be interested to see how the approach of the Bulls compares.

| We will sell..we are a selling club..we are not a big club who can hang onto players..players with any aspirations know that they have to move onto bigger and better clubs..young tom is the only one who hasnt gone chasing the dollar..yet.
