| Shame for the lad. I always thought he gave everything when he played for us. It's a shame he wasn't bigger. I think Potter could've given him a game to check him in the first team before letting go. I wish him all the best at Keighley and I'm sure he'll be a hit in their league.

| He never set the world on fire but then he was going to watch the footy instead of hanging around with the first team on match day.
Maybe he knew for a while but has needed a bit of time to get some stuff worked out. I can't imagine his pay will have gone up?
I hope he goes well.

| It's not really a surprise. Given that with the signings that came in this year and his injury he was way down the pecking order for his preferred positions or either wing or full-back the only thing he had going for him was his home grown status.
Hopefully he'll crack on and be a success at Keighley

| I see the T&A says its a short term deal
I guess he will be hoping to impress and get picked up by a bigger club in due course, because it seems a big drop down to Champ 1 for someone very much in the 1st Team only last season.
Good luck to the lad

| It's a shame that his time at Odsal has come to an end but like many have said he fell down the pecking order during the off season. Perhaps if he hadn't have been injured he may have had a fighting chance of making a place for himself in the first team.
Cheers for the commitment and hard work. I'll never forget that try he scored in the dying seconds in France in 2009.

| Agree with all above, without being disrespectful to Dave I think he'll shine with the Cougars.
All the best DH

| Good Luck to Dave i always liked him as a player, i am sure we have not seen the last of him in Super League, he needs some quality game time to be up there again.

| Sadly, his effort never made up for his lack of ability. Not really surprised by this.

Completely agree. Vastly overrated by many Bulls fans. His one on one defence is like a revolving door, never beats the first tackler when returning kicks and has surprisingly little pace for someone touted as a "flyer". Two seasons ago, Michael Platt was being crucified for the kind of errors that fans overlooked when made by Halley.

I'll never forget that try either; for some reason Dave was trying to run under the posts (the hooter was about to go) and we just needed the score and I was screaming at him to "just put the bloody thing down"!
I hope things work out well for him at Keighley and (hopefully) some SL club comes in for him.

| The very best of luck to the lad, cracking bloke that he is.
As has been said, he's way down the pecking order so this is probably the best move for him. I think it'll end up similar Tansey at Dewsbury, as he'll probably get another SL club. I'm sure John Kear will be monitoring his availibility as he shone on loan at Wakefield in '09 as I recall.

Agree entirely with this. FA kindly did me a Halley avatar when I suggested he wouldn't reach the mark a fw years ago. Ironically I think he could have been carried in a top 4 team who gave him enough chances to mask his shortcomings. Goulding at Wigan, Hardman at Saints (now Fev), even Foster at Saints (good potential granted) offer no more than Halley (Foster's kicking excepted).
