What is going on? Over 13,000 there yesterday? At a guess I would say around 9000 there yesterday. Lying about crowds is odd.

It is common practice for sporting teams to count non-attending season ticket holders. We've already paid, so we are counted whether we are there or not.
Nobody is suggesting there were 13,000 there yesterday. But 13,000 paid - either on the day or in advance.

they sold 11,043 season tickets IIRC and that figure doesn't include kids?
I took my two to the game yesterday, add 1000 saints fans then it's really not that much to turn up for that figure to get to 13,000.
more jealousy from our cougar supporting neighbours.

Philip you have not answered my question why are they counting fans that are not in the ground? Does this show how bad its got at odsal. The crowd is how many people turn up. Do they count droped chips and half eaten burgers too?

You could argue they never sold 11000 season tickets, at 60 quid that's as close to giving them away as you can get in super league. Some away fans spend more than that for 1 trip to odsal super dome a season.

I agree with the OP the attendance figures announced at Odsal are beyond belief sometimes. They just do it willy nilly it's slack from a professional outfit.
This is how lackadaisical the count was yesterday. The announced figure was 13,224. But when I did my head count during the second half it was 12,998. Which means they were 26 people out. Now I could accept them be 0.5 out either way but to be out by 26 is absolute garbage!
