he's not supposed to be injured. It was a sickness bug that kept him out last week allegedly. Bad news him missing as this will add fuel to speculation re him wanting a release. Also bad timing with us not having option of giving southernwood a go. Kearney will have to play in halves as combinations we've tried last few weeks just arent working. one off reardon/halley to fullback with other on wing and wardle in for platt. Think we need to give crossley a go too off bench.

the more often he misses one game at a time, rather than being out for a few weeks, the more i feel there is something in the homesick/NRL rumours.

Sad i know, but time to enter another transitional period for the rest of this season?

If we take the assumption that the sickness report is correct (and I appreciate a lot of people aren't going to believe it), then it must be a pretty bad illness he's got and perhaps it's worth wishing him a speedy recovery from it.

Incidentally, if Kearney & Langley play, I would expect to see the following 17 (what I expect, not what I'd pick):

Halley
Sheriffe
Menzies
Nero
Reardon
Sykes
Kearney
Scruton
L'Estrange
Hall
Whitehead
Worrincy
Langley
SUBS
Godwin
Addy
Kopczak
Wardle

bit too big an ask to expect langley to come back from a longish injury and play full game at Loose. Expect menzies to stay at loose and langley to be used as a bench prop to ease him back in.wardle to cover for platt imo. Other option would be to move sykes to and use addy alongside kearney which was the halves combo in friendlies and imo addy looked a lot better alongside kearney than he has done alongside sykes.

Never said he was gonna play a full game at Loose. I would expect him to start though. We usually spell a backrower at around the 20/25 minute mark, so will probably be him that goes off first.

normally I'd agree with that, but in absence of lynch, langley is the 2nd rower most likely to move up into props and give us a bit of bulk in pack imo. Dont like idea of worrincy propping and doubt we'll see crossley given a go.

That said I'd prefer us to put langley straight back into his 2nd row position as weve missed his defence on that side.

IMO you don't need Wardle and Addy on the bench. I would have Wardle with Crossley leave Addy out.

I think the club should now come out and tell us what is happening with Orford. I am fed up reading players ok for this week and then dont show, someone is out for a week which then turns into 3/4/5/6. Something doesnt appear right to me

If I was Orford and seen what went on last weekend I'd have had a relapse too. If he wants to go then let him. It's pointless paying him to NOT play.

According to sources close, Orford has been really struggling with a sickness bug all week.
