| Reiss is joining Batley on loan I understand.
It should be a good move for all parties.
He'll know Matt Diskin from his time here and should be able to learn a lot from him, and I imagine he'll get plenty of game time at a good standard too.

| Unlucky not to have got more opportunites (as are a few other younger players/reserves)
Think we've just been lucky with injuries. He's on a 3 year deal and is still eligible for the 19s and he will get plenty of time to breakthrough. Huge potential, as has his brother. Hopefully both will be playing regularly in the first team in a couple of years.

| Reiss needs some regular gametime. He has the potential to be the best hooker at the club. Will he get gametime at Batley? Is their hooker injured?
If he's good enough for championship rugby you wonder why he's behind Hallas and Halafihi here.
On a related point Jamal Goodall went to Dewsbury on loan for gametime. Has he had any yet?

Not sure why Reiss hasn't had some first team action this season. I'd add Evan Hodgson to that list as well.
Jamal has been playing I think, I watched the highlights of their game against Rochdale and noticed him. His contract extension at the start of this season makes less and less sense the more I think about it.

| It seems strange to say that a player has to move UP a division to get more game time. They usually have to drop down to do that.

If Dewsbury have injury problems and needed a hooker, Matt may have given John a quick call to ask for help. He would know about Reiss from his time here.
Any other scenario and yep, it would be a bit odd.

| by coincidence I watched his youtube u16s highlights yesterday, he was involved in some great tries. things change with age, but his potential is massive, hooker or half back.

He played in the first game after his loan began, but not the second.

| Typical that Butterworth's chance comes when he's away on loan (Flanagan out for 6-8 weeks). I wonder if we can persuade Batley to let him come back early?

| Looked good in the Dewsbury game. Scored one and set one up. Really hope he gets some game time when he comes back.

Don't think it's up to them. Loan rules state it must be for a minimum of 4 weeks / 30 days / 1 month (I forget the exact timeframe, but it's one of those). I don't think clubs can just tear that rule up, otherwise everyone would just ignore it in order to get someone in short term when they were needed.

It stops big clubs exploiting the loan market, using a sort of open dual reg system. Without that rule, you could have a Super League team with a big squad having it's first choice 17 playing, then 5 of their next best playing for Fax, the next 5 playing for Fev, the next 5 at Bradford etc etc., then the week after 2 of them could be back playing for the parent club whilst the loanees and the two they've dropped all go off to different clubs than they were at the week before. It would be anarchy.
It can be daft enough as it is with some players turning out for 4 or 5 different clubs in a season, but without that minimum loan period, they could turn out for 30 clubs.

| It's not far off that at the moment. I'm sure that Oledzki played for us, Leeds and Fev and Murray played for us, Fax and Rochdale last season, he may even have played for Salford too.
I take your point anyway.
